There is a chance that Sophia Turner could be in some trouble with the folks over at HBO, because she might have recently let a small spoiler slip about a little show called ‘Game of Thrones.’ During a recent talk with reporters from Hey U Guys, Turner stated the following about her upcoming roles in ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘X-Men:’
“We’re about to start shooting the next X-Men, we’ve just finished shooting Season 7 of [Game of] Thrones, and I’ve got a couple of movies to do before X-Men starts. And then we go on to Season 8.”
And while it is somewhat surprising to hear confirmation about the very quickly thrown together ‘X-Men: Supernova‘ (the title of which I still think is a little dumb), more fans were surprised to hear her give such a potentially blatant spoiler for ‘Game of Thrones.’ In speaking about the fact that she would be coming back to shoot Season 8, unless she was just making assumptions, Turner is basically confirming that Sansa Stark will be surviving the events of Season 7, where we know she will be in Winterfell surrounded by new potential rivals for power Littlefinger and her brother Jon Snow.
With her more recent character developments after her harrowing adventures in the past few seasons, Sansa has become a bit more frosty and ambitious, making us think she might be out for power in the coming days, pitting her against these men that were once her allies in the fight against Ramsey Bolton. Knowing that Sansa will survive to Season 8 could spell certain doom for Jon Snow or Littlefinger before Season 7 is over (though there is a bit of concept art that was leaked that showed Jon Snow at the Dragon Pits in King’s Landing at the end of Season 7, so I’m actually not too worried about him).
Could Turner have let something slip like this? Or is there a chance she just spoke out of turn, and/or was just making an assumption which could easily happen when you’ve been on the show as long as her? Share your thoughts on the matter in the comments below!
