Spider-Man: Far From Home

Quite a few of the ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ trailers and TV spots have included a scene that shows Spidey in his Iron Spider suit taking down some minor league villains in a nice restaraunt. When we all sit down to see the film over the next couple of weeks, this is a scene you shouldn’t hope gets fleshed out as you won’t be seeing it. Director Jon Watts recently opened up that while the scene was fully shot, it didn’t make the final cut of the theatrical release.

According to Watts:

“[It] was one of those things where it was a really fun scene, but it didn’t really move the story forward and we basically just wanted to get the kids to Europe as quickly as possible.”

With the bulk of the movie set to take place in Europe, “far from home” for Peter Parker, this move to speed things up makes sense. However, never fear on eventually being able to check this scene out! Watts has already released that this and other deleted scenes will make it into the home release of the movie. Not as an additional cut but in a fun way:

“Yeah, both of those are actually part of the same montage which is Peter’s, To-Do List. It’s all the things he has to do before he goes on the trip which are going to Delmar’s to get a dual headphone adaptor and one of those European travel plugs, he has to go to a pawn shop to sell his Star Wars toys to get money for the trip, he has to pick up his passport, and he has to take down this giant crime syndicate. That’s just the to-do list for someone like him, but that will be its own little short film that we’re going to put on the Blu-ray. There are some good deleted scenes.”

I love how Watts casually explains what a superhero has to do for getting ready to take a break. However, the best part is that it sounds like we’re getting something akin to a One-Shot that will flesh out Parker’s preparation for his European vacation!
