It was just too silly. However, I liked The Chronicle, a similar show that aired in 2001. I also liked the remake of Night Stalker starring Stuart Townsend and Gabrielle Union, which aired in 2005. Funny how all three shows lasted only 1 season.

The opening titles were perfect; starting with the lead whistling a tune, which then became a frenetic piece of music, culminating in a a clock stopping at midnight! – intense craziness! Darren McGavin was perfect as Kolchak a scruffy, whacky reporter obsessed with the supernatural. This was, at the time, a seriously whacky and really scary TV series. It both damaged (and thrilled) me at the time!
