As if getting excited for the next Marvel movie wasn’t enough, many True Believers anxiously anticipate Stan Lee’s traditional cameo appearance. Eagle-eyed fans are always on the lookout for the Generalissimo because you never know where he might pop up. Sometimes he’s out in the open as part of a crowd, but other times his image may be hidden in the background. He has even found himself acting as a DJ in a strip club for that lovable Merc With A Mouth in ‘Deadpool’. But no matter how it happens, he’s almost always present for a House of Ideas production and now it appears that he’ll be there for Alex Wilder and the rest of the gang on Hulu’s ‘Runaways’.
Entertainment Weekly recently revealed that the comic book icon would be dropping by this week’s installment of the latest Marvel Television series. Executive producer Josh Schwartz spoke to the publication about how the guest spot came about and their process of finding the right cameo:
“We heard it was something he was potentially interested in doing. Since we shoot in Los Angeles, it seemed more possible that we might be able to get him to come. Then, we created various scenarios that would be fun to pull him into.”
Fellow executive producer Stephanie Savage elaborated a bit by revealing that some scenarios included Lee playing an eccentric artist and a Hugh Hefner-like playboy surrounded by women. However, they ultimately decided that a mysterious limo driver would be the best fit for the beloved storyteller. You can check out the first image of Stan Lee’s ‘Runaways’ cameo below:
