WARNING: This article contains potential minor spoilers for the upcoming episode of ‘Doctor Who.’ If you don’t want to see this type of thing, then the best time to stop reading is now!
If you’ve been following along with our ‘Doctor Who‘ weekly episode reviews, then you know how crazy this season is getting so far for the good Doctor, Bill, and Nardole. If you haven’t been following along with our weekly reviews – well, why the heck not?!
In advance of this week’s episode, the “conclusion” of the last two episodes and their story arc, BBC has gifted us with a trailer, a clip, and lots of pictures from the episode. The pictures give some intriguing detail to the episode, including the confirmation of what we’ve all assumed to now be true: Missy is what’s been kept inside the vault (at least, she’s part of what’s contained therein).
Entitled ‘The Lie of the Land,’ the episode title is a clever play on words based on the episode description:
The world is gripped by a mass delusion and only Bill Potts can see the truth. When even the Doctor is fighting on the wrong side, it’s up to Bill to convince the Time Lord that humanity is in deadly danger. And if she can’t do that, she may just have to kill her best friend…
The episode is directed by Wayne Yip, marking his first foray into ‘Who’ after having helmed two episodes of spin-off ‘Class’ earlier this year. ‘The Lie of the Land’ is written by DW vet Toby Whithouse, who’s been writing scripts for ‘Doctor Who’ episodes for over a decade.
