10 New Images From Netflix’s Upcoming ‘Masters Of The Universe’ Miniseries

Later this year, Netflix will bring another old-school cartoon property back to live with their 5-part miniseries ‘Masters of the Universe: Revelation,’ spearheaded by long-time pop-culture creator Kevin Smith. Serving as the showrunner and executive producer, Smith is joined by behind-the-scenes talent from the original ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ series, including Frederick Soulie as an executive producer and Susan Cordin as a producer. Longtime Smith co-collaborator Marc Bernardin serves as one of the writers, and the series’ music is composed by Bear McCreary. Speaking about what the original 1980s cartoon series meant to him, Smith had this to say: I watched all of the TV series growing up, it was everywhere in the ‘80s. These characters started off as toys and ended up becoming part of the global pop culture fabric. So much of this show has been possible because of the love and affection for this world at every level of production and the fandom surrounding this franchise. The First Teaser Trailer For Robert Kirkman’s ‘Invincible’ Has Arrived

Robert Kirkman is known to many pop-culture fans as the man who created ‘The Walking Dead’ (technically co-created with artist and longtime collaborator Tony Moore), the Image Comics comic-book series that spawned a hugely successful TV show that is still running into its eleventh season on AMC – and which, in turn, has spawned several other series spin-offs as well. Before ‘The Walking Dead,’ however, Kirkman and artist Cory Walker co-created another title for Image: the son-of-a-famous-superhero-gets-powers-of-his-own tale ‘Invincible,’ and it was a massive hit. Praised as a more realistic take on a superhero story, the series ran for 144 issues from 2003 to 2018. Once set to be adapted into a feature film, ‘Invincible’ finds life as an adult-oriented animated series on Amazon’s Prime Video, coming to audiences next year in what’s reported to be an hour-long each, 8-episode first season. The voice cast for the new series is impressively long, and reads as a “who’s who” of genre stalwarts mixed with several mainstays of ‘The Walking Dead’ TV series. The Trailer And Release Date Are Out For ‘DC Super Hero Girls’

Ever since the ‘Teen Titans GO! to the Movies,’ fans have been dying to see more of the ‘DC Super Hero Girls‘ where it was teased alongside the movie. We’ve learned that the new series will land on Cartoon Network on March 8th, 2019 so it won’t be long until you can watch the show. Now, the first trailer is out for the female-lead series which stars Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl and more of their friends when they were teenagers and saving the world while also trying to live normal lives. We know how well that has worked out for every teenage hero in the past. The show will take place in Metropolis where we’ll see this group of heroes taking down “some of the most sinister school-aged Super-Villains of the DC Universe.” Check out the trailer right here! If you A) are missing ‘Marvel’s The Defenders’ and the cool interconnectedness of Marvel TV shows, B) are concerned that the announcement of impending proprietary streaming service Disney+ is going to kill your chance of seeing any Disney-owned content anywhere else ever, or C) love animated shows about D-list comic-book characters… then you are in luck, as Marvel/Disney and Hulu have confirmed that they are collaborating to create 4 new animated shows to air exclusively on the Hulu platform. When Matt Groening decided to enter the world of fantasy with ‘Disenchantment,’ fans of his work on ‘The Simpsons‘ and ‘Futurama‘ were thrilled. Now, we have a new reason to be excited as it appears the new world is set in the same universe as ‘Futurama’ due to a time travel Easter Egg that pops up. Now, this isn’t a spoiler for the plot of the show but does give a brief hint of what to expect for a scene in the tenth episode of the first season. Box office audiences can’t get enough of ‘Deadpool’ and now it looks like ‘Teen Titans GO! To the Movies‘ can’t either! In their latest marketing on Twitter, they poke fun at the fact that Deadpool was a direct ripoff of DC’s very own Deathstroke. Not only do the main characters find a fun way to antagonize their villain but poke fun at the Merc with the Mouth at the same time. Disney Finds A Cool Way To Introduce The Voice Cast Of The ‘Incredibles 2’

The marketing team for ‘Incredibles 2’ clearly love The Google Art and Culture app as they’ve directly tapped into the popular feature to show off what the cast’s characters of the film would look like as a classic painting. Writer and director Brad Bird was able to show us how a ‘Fantastic Four’ movie should have been done with the first film and now is giving us another outing with the Parr family as they come up against new villains, new problems, and a baby who has all kinds of superpowers! First up, we have a look at Holly Hunter as Helen Parr. Not only is she the mother of the family but the fantastic Elastigirl as well! We know that this time around she’ll be leading the charge for the Supers to come back into the spotlight to save the world. Next up we’ve got Craig T. Nelson as Bob Parr. A ‘Micronauts’ Cartoon Is Coming!

We know that Hasbro and Paramount Pictures are working on a ‘Micronauts’ movie that will be in a shared cinematic universe with other Hasbro properties but now it seems a cartoon is in the works as well! Details on the plot of the show as well as promotional artwork have popped up in the Hasbro Studios Sales Guide and it seems that the toy company is fully embracing its roots of coming up with cartoons to sell their toys. I, for one, am perfectly okay with this! We know that outside of the film and now television series that the toy maker has also recently licensed the franchise to IDW Publishing for an ongoing comic that will exist in the same comic universe as ‘Transformers’ and ‘G.I. Joe’ which the publisher also tackles. As for what the cartoon will be about? ‘Batman: Gotham By Gaslight’ Will Be The Next DC Animated Film!

Until ‘Wonder Woman,’ the only DC films truly worth watching in recent years has been their amazing animated ones, and now we’ve learned that Warner Brothers is bringing us another in ‘Batman: Gotham By Gaslight’! With ‘Batman and Harley Quinn‘ not yet out, it is a bit surprising, in a good way, that we hear about the film so early and it sounds like one to be excited for. Jennifer Carpenter (‘Dexter’) had announced earlier this year that she would be doing voice work as Catwoman for an upcoming film by the same name. Catwoman wasn’t in the original story arc that this is being based off of so we’ll be seeing some alterations to the plot but with Catwoman currently stealing the spotlight as Bruce’s true love and wife to be, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we’d be seeing her pop up in other mediums. Unsurprising To All, ‘Batman And Harley Quinn’ Is Getting A Limited Theatrical Run!

We learned a year ago that ‘Batman and Harley Quinn’ was going to become a reality in an animated feature and now the inevitable limited cinematic release has been announced! Much like ‘Batman: The Killing Joke‘ and ‘Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders‘ received one, the latest animated adventure of the Caped Crusader will as well! We’ve seen Quinn work with Batman before, but in this outing, we’ll see them teaming up to stop both Poison Ivy and Floronic Man. Generally, Quinn and Ivy tend to be besties, so this will be fun to see the pair going at one another. We’ve Got The Sneak Peak At Disney XD’s ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’

If you can’t get enough of your favorite Wallcrawler in the style that was introduced in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ then you need to check out this sneak peak for Disney XD’s latest series – ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’. The outfit is obviously based off of the young Tom Holland played Peter Parker, and this iteration of the character seems to be in the same age range as well. The new show “tells the story of an unsure (but courageous) teen who has to figure out how to be a Super Hero from the very beginning.” This is clearly another young Spidey take which is perfect for Disney XD as we have the uncomfortable in his own skin Spidey trying to do what’s right and learn the ropes of being a superhero. You can check out the clip below which has your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man going toe to toe against Scorpion! Guillermo Del Toro Still Wants An Animated ‘Pacific Rim’ Series

With Guillermo del Toro not directing ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising‘ and no word in quite some time on the proposed animated series one would think that it was dead in the water, but the director still has hope that it will see the light of day! Of course, the famed director is known for wanting to bring a multitude of works to the big screen which never happened such as ‘Hellboy 3‘, ‘At the Mountains of Madness,’ and his take on the ‘Silent Hill’ game among other things. The director is still knee-deep in his next work, ‘The Shape of Water‘ which means that creating this series might be quite some time off if he would be in charge of it. Of course, if like ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ he is just on board as an executive producer this could still be in the works. I’m sure box office sales for the upcoming movie will convince the studio one way or another as to if they’ll be moving forward on the project. The Second Season Of Marvel’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Teams Them Up With The Avengers!

If the first season of Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ wasn’t enough for you on Disney XD than maybe a team up with The Avengers for a 1-hour premiere of the second season will be! The series returns mid-March with a double feature that teams the galaxy’s most rag-tag group of superheroes with the might Avengers! Not only that, but Disney XD has a bonus in store for you as they will be releasing six short stories which follow “the adventures of the five main characters” that will be released daily starting February 27th! While ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ has long been considered the pinnacle of superhero cartoons, The 90s ‘X-Men‘ cartoon was a close second and after a long hiatus, the mutants are finally coming back in animated form. The announcements are apparently set for well after ‘X-Men ResurrXion’ kicks off. With Marvel and Fox Studios seemingly patched up their differences from the cinematic franchises once Marvel Studios has split away, more collaboration has been happening and it seems like the mutants are going to be getting a lot more attention coming up. We already knew that the studios were working together on ‘Legion’ and the untitled ‘X-Men’ project though now a new cartoon is going to be happening. This isn’t to say that the mutants have been completely absent from cartoons in recent years. Wolverine and some of the other heavy players have shown up in other shows, but not as an ensemble team as fans have wanted.
