Disney Chooses To Bring ‘Black Widow’ To Digital Release Early, Adds 9 Deleted Scenes

‘Black Widow’ marked the triumphant return to theaters for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the film has seen its box office take decline sharply in the weeks since its opening. Possibly as a result of this, Disney today has announced that they are bumping up the digital release of the films across the various platforms; this, of course, is not to be confused with the “Premiere Early Access” that Disney+ subscribers can pay for to have access to the film via their account already. The digital release is now coming in just a few weeks, on August 10th. The film’s physical release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD will follow on September 14th. Both digital and physical releases will feature a large amount of extra content, including a blooper reel, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and nine deleted scenes for fans to enjoy. Don’t Expect The ‘Joker’ Home Release To Have Any Deleted Scenes

You would think that like most comic book movies that the home release of ‘Joker‘ would include a few deleted scenes or possibly an extended cut. This isn’t something that you should get your hopes up as director Todd Phillips and star Joaquin Phoenix have both confirmed that the theatrical cut is all we’ll end up seeing. I’m sure that the executives at Warner Bros. might sing a different tune on this with a future release, but for now, we’ll only get to see this version. Considering it was previously revealed that the original cut of ‘Joker’ was 30-minutes longer, there is plenty of material that we may never get to see. As to why this is the case? Phillips explained: “I hate f**king extended cuts. Michael Dougherty Shares Details About Deleted Scenes From ‘Godzilla: King Of The Monsters’

When ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ gets a home release you can expect plenty of deleted scenes from the film. Director Michael Dougherty has shared that “The director’s cut was around 2 [hours], 40-45 [minutes]. I called it Godzilla the mini-series,” which means that there should be at least half an hour of fully fleshed out content as the theatrical release clocked in at 2-hours and 12-minutes. That being said, “there weren’t a lot of whole scenes that got lifted out. There were a few, and they’ll end up on the Blu-ray. But a lot of it was trimming moments within each scene. We had a large ensemble cast, so there was a tendency to give each character a moment… and that adds up.” What those scenes are haven’t been revealed so far. However, Millie Bobby Brown did share that she had a memorable fight scene which was filmed and not in the final release so that is one of the shots we might end up still getting a chance to see! There’s still more than a week to go before ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ arrives in theaters, but we’ve already been given an idea of what to expect to find on the film’s home video release. And as befits a film as big (in every sense of the word) as ‘Infinity War’ is shaping up to be, that includes plenty of deleted scenes. This marks a bit of a change for co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously helmed ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘Captain America: Civil War’ for Marvel are no stranger to deleted scenes. That’s part and parcel of making movies. But if you’re acquainted with the bonus features on those two films’ home releases, you’ll know that while there are deleted scenes included, there aren’t a ton of them. That’s not a result of Marvel being stingy with their extras, but rather of the Russo brothers’ approach to moviemaking. ‘Justice League’ Gets An Exclusive Scene On Blu-Ray

It may not be the alternate cut for which some fans have been begging (and which we have repeatedly been told does not exist in anything resembling a releasable state), but thanks to a pre-order listing for Walmart’s exclusive version of the ‘Justice League’ Blu-ray, we know that the release will include at least some additional footage. Though Warner hasn’t made a full announcement of what the home video release will include, Walmart’s announcement of their retailer exclusive bundle (which includes a set of pins), featured the picture that leads off this article. In that picture, the more eagle-eyed among you might have noticed a sticker advertising a bonus scene. Of course, we don’t yet know what form that scene will take. As anyone who remembers the trailers or paid even a modicum of attention to the production process will tell you, there’s certainly no dearth of scenes that didn’t make it into the finished film. In particular, there were a number of scenes centering on Aquaman (to say nothing of every scene featuring Kiersey Clemons as Iris West). Rian Johnson Shares Some Deleted Scenes From ‘The Last Jedi’

Clocking in at a whopping 152 minutes (a franchise record), ‘The Last Jedi’ is an epic installment in a series for which there is perhaps no more fitting description. But would you believe it was very nearly longer than that? As we’ve reported previously, the film’s rough cut ran close to three full hours, and with that in mind, director Rian Johnson is promising a plethora of deleted scenes for the home video release. With ‘The Last Jedi’ now in theaters, we’ve been able to get a clearer picture of just what those deleted scenes will entail. First and foremost, how much material are we talking about? Roughly twenty minutes, according to Johnson. The director promises that the Blu-ray will be loaded with deleted scenes, adding that while some incidental material has been held back, “all the good stuff” will be included. Expect A Ton Of Deleted Scenes When ‘The Last Jedi’ Hits Blu-Ray

‘The Last Jedi’ is going to be a long one. Not ‘Lord of the Rings’-long, to be sure, but nonetheless. The film, which according to the BBFC’s certification information clocks in at a whopping 152 minutes, is on track to become the longest ‘Star Wars’ film to date (beating out the previous record of 142 minutes, which was held by ‘Attack of the Clones’). And it was very nearly longer than that, with a rough cut that reportedly hit the three-hour mark. All of that adds up to one thing: deleted scenes! And according to director Rian Johnson, we will, in fact, have plenty of those when ‘The Last Jedi’ arrives on home video next year. Most major studio-released films go through a fairly lengthy process when it comes to post-production; they are edited for time, re-edited if focus groups and test audiences mention enough potential alterations, and the list goes on and on. Rarely do movies go from scripting to shooting to post-production to wide release without any major changes – yet that’s just what ‘Wonder Woman’ has achieved, claims the film’s director. Patty Jenkins has been working hard on ‘Wonder Woman,’ and it’s no real secret in saying that the film has been a “passion project” of hers. Gareth Edwards has revealed new details on the deleted scenes from ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘ and it was “as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced” when we learned that they won’t be available. With how vastly different the original last act of the film was from what originally had been shot there was a ton that was cut or changed which had previews in the marketing material. There was probably quite a bit of hope that they’d make their way onto the home release of the film but there was no Jyn Erso to deliver us that hope in this situation. With ‘Warcraft‘ being a domestic dud though globally a huge success it makes you wonder if some of the deleted scenes will help to ignite the attention of American audiences and we’ve got the first one for you. Must like ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ having felt better in the director’s cut we’re wondering if ‘Warcraft’ might benefit from its upcoming home release as well when it arrives on DVD and Blu-ray next month. The first of the deleted scenes from the film are here and in it, unrest is being shown among the Orcs as Duotan, Ogrim, and Blackhand are having a not-so-civil chat about the power which Gul’dan wields. While the magic is powerful, it isn’t by any means safe. Let’s take a look: While I’m hoping that the deleted scenes will add more to the mythos of the cinematic take on ‘Warcraft’, I have a feeling it won’t be changing the minds of anyone who has already seen the film. Even though it opened to decidedly mixed reviews – indeed, even writers on our own site loved and hated the movie to varying degrees – ‘Suicide Squad’ still managed to set box-office records in its opening weekend, raking in the biggest August opening weekend of all time. Director David Ayer recently said that the theatrical version of the film is also his “director’s cut,” meaning that what audiences are seeing is what he envisioned them seeing when he set out to make the film. Whether this is true or not, multiple reports have been trickling in over the last few months that much, much more to the film was actually shot and exists by way of deleted scenes – scenes that would very easily change the tone and scope of the movie. While we have to wait for Warner Brothers to officially release any of these scenes, a user on Reddit has provided an extensive list of what he/she claims are scenes that were shot but cut from the theatrical version of the movie. Off-Target: Check Out ‘Arrow’ Season 3 Deleted Scenes

With the imminent approach of ‘Arrow’ Season 4, not to mention the arrival of the sophomore season of ‘The Flash’ and the premiere of ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ later this season, it is understandable for fans of the CW’s DC Universe to be a bit antsy while they are waiting for their shows to return. Well, to help tide over the True Believers, the folks behind ‘Arrow’ have released a reel of deleted scenes from the 3rd season, which most suspect will also be included on the Blu-Ray release of the season. Check out the deleted scenes below, but bear in mind these are not completed scenes. What is different about these deleted scenes compared to what we might normally see on a home video release is that these are deleted fight scenes, meaning action packed sequences that were planned, plotted and practiced by the stuntmen on the show, and then decided to be cut out of the episode at a later date. ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome’ Deleted Scenes

When ‘Battlestar Galactica’ ended, many were saddened that it came to a close. After that came ‘Caprica,’ a look at the world of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ before they created Cylons. Not quite as many people missed it when it went away. Most recently we’ve had ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome‘ which was a webseries made into a movie that showed the actual war with the Cylons. It was very well received from fans of the franchise. While it doesn’t appear that it’ll be launching a new series, it’s not quite over yet! On the Blu-ray combo pack release that is coming out today (Tuesday, February 19th) there is going to be a ton of extra features. These features include six delated scenes and seven more if you pickup the combo back. Also, there are going to be a slew of featurettes that look into how the series was made.
