Spider-Man: Far From Home Sneaked In Another Villain From The Comics
Marvel Comics

It turns out that on top of Mysterio, and the Elementals– the Sandman, Hydro-Man, and Molten Man– ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ sneaked in another of Web-Head’s Rogues, the most recent iteration of The Beetle.  Played by Claire Rushbrook, one of Mysterio’s chief aids is identified by name, as Janice Lincoln.  That also happens to be the real name of the newest Beetle (sometimes called Lady Beetle), the daughter of Tombstone, and a crime boss on her own right.

In the film, Janice Lincoln is seen pretending to be a bartender when the hologram fades, and Jake Gyllenhaal‘s Quentin Beck reveals his secret plan.  Beck states that Lincoln is the one who discovered that EDITH was being given to Peter, and orchestrated his being drawn into their elaborate scheme.

Unlike the film version of Lincoln, the comic book version isn’t a scientist, but a former defense attorney.  (This also differentiates her from the original, and better-known Beetle, Abner Jenkins, who invented his own armored suit.  Janice’s was built by fellow criminal The Fixer.)  She represented Mysterio after he faked an alien invasion as one of his machinations.

Most recently, this Beetle formed the all-female Sinister Syndicate including Lady Octopus, Scorpia, Trapstr, Electro, and White Rabbit.

Now that Kevin Feige will be back as producer of the third ‘Spider-Man’ movie (in this cycle), the next movie can continue to draw from the Marvel Universe, including ‘Far From Home’s connection to Stark Industries.

‘Homecoming’ and ‘Far From Home’ director Jon Watts was reported to be in final negotiations to return for the third picture two weeks ago.  Tom Holland and Zendaya are also expected to return, as it is believed they are already signed on.  In addition, Holland is expected to return in additional Marvel Studios films.

The next untitled ‘Spider-Man’ movie is already scheduled for release on July 16, 2021.
