Go ahead and extend your vacation stay, as HBO is keeping ‘Westworld’ open for a fourth season. The current third season kicked off on March 15, and over nine million people tuned in across all platforms. The series was created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and focuses on artificial intelligence and the concept of free will. The original setting was the high-tech artificial “playground” of Westworld, a super sophisticated resort where wealthy patrons paid to indulge in their western-themed fantasies, including being free to commit any manner of crime, from bank robbing to murder, and indulge any sort of sexual indulgence they can think of. The second season exposed the fact that Westworld was just one of many historical backdrops that patrons could choose from, all powered by the Delos corporation, and the current third season has ventured outside the park into the real world, but it seems that the Delos technology has been applied “out there” as well. SPOILER ALERT: If you are not completely caught up on ‘Westworld’, this article contains huge SPOILERS for the first three episodes of Season 3. If there were ever any questions that HBO’s ‘Westworld’ was “The Dolores Show,” the revelations from Ep. 3 of Season 3, “Mother of Exiles,” confirms that Evan Rachel Wood’s free host is calling the shots of not just her own regular form, but three others. Dolores’ consciousness is operating the bodies of Tessa Thompson‘s Charlotte Hale (in a composite some fans are calling “Halores,” a combo of Hale and Dolores), Tommy Flanagan’s Martin Connells (“Connellores”), and Hiroyuki Sanada’s Musashi, a Shogun Warrior from last season’s Shogunworld (“Yakuzalores”). Who is the fourth? Wood herself divulged to Deadline: “Bernard is one.” These bodies under her control are called “pearls” and it is known that Dolores has five pearls. New ‘Westworld’ BTS Video Explores The World Outside Of The Park

After over a year, the new season of ‘Westworld’ is almost here, and it promises to be a fresh start. While Seasons 1 and 2 almost exclusively took place in the virtual wonderlands where the wealthy pay to spend their vacations in fantasy environments populated with hosts, androids that look and act like humans, that the humans can kill or fornicate with to their hearts’ desires. But the new season opens the door on the real world, the futuristic society populated with humans, most of which are not the wealthy Westworld vacationers. Considering the cutting edge technology employed in Westworld and the other false realities, how has that tech changed the outside world? The series will dive deeper into that question, but for now, here is a short behind-the-scenes video released by HBO that explores this world. Fans of the critically acclaimed HBO Series know that the two seasons of ‘Westworld’ have done a lot of world-building so far, but ironically, it is the third season that will actually open the show up to the “real” world, which will make for a dramatic change to the series. Instead of the isolated and manufactured “worlds” of the park, the remaining Hosts are now out among the rest of the world’s humans, able to see the world as it really is. ‘Westworld’ S3: HBO Announces The Titles And Synopses For First 4 Episodes + New Cast Pics

In just over a week, the wait will be over, as the Season 3 premiere of ‘Westworld’ will arrive on HBO. With the new season about to kick off, the network has released an assortment of new photos of the cast members from the first new episode, as well as the titles and synopses for the first four episodes, complete with directors and writers. In addition to Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores), Thandie Newton (Maeve), Jeffrey Wright (Bernard), and Tessa Thompson (Charlotte), the photos also showcase newcomers Aaron Paul (Caleb), Lena Waithe (Ash), and Marshawn Lynch (role unknown). While not a lot is known about their characters, it does appear that they know one another. With the premiere of ‘Westworld’ Season 3 only a few short weeks away (March 15th!), fans have been ravenous for new information and new footage from the upcoming season. HBO realizes this hunger hence why “hidden trailers” keep popping up over the internet with the newest ones being found in a viral website called “Incite, Inc.,” a fictional website for a company within the ‘Westworld’ universe. At this point, we have 4 trailers for the series, the first being the official trailer from HBO with the ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ music at the end that most people have seen thanks to the standard promotion from the network. The hosts have broken free, but where do they go from here? At long last, the third season of HBO’s ‘Westworld’ is nearly upon us, and HBO has released a new trailer that offers a tease of what to expect. Perhaps the biggest leap is that Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) has journeyed into the outside world and has found a potential kindred spirit in construction worker Caleb (Aaron Paul), who, like a host, has seemingly had his entire life programmed by those with more power or money. It seems that after causing Westworld to collapse, Dolores might be plotting the destruction of all of society. As she puts it, she may have to do things the “old fashioned way” which is to “kill everyone.” But there might be someone that comes between her and that goal — Maeve (Thandie Newton). HBO has unveiled a new poster, bearing the tagline “Free Will Is Not Free.” Obviously, the series will continue to explore the philosophical question of free will vs. determinism, as the android hosts continue pushing back against their original programming and exploring their “lives” unrestrained. Jeffrey Wright May Be The New Commissioner Gordon In ‘The Batman’

Jeffrey Wright can dust off the sand from ‘Westworld’, but where he’s going, it’s even grimier. The Hollywood Reporter has… er, reported that Wright is in negotiations to play Commissioner James “Jim” Gordon in Matt Reeves’ DC Comics reboot flick ‘The Batman’. He will be starring opposite Robert Pattinson, who was announced as the new big-screen Dark Knight at the end of May. No one else has been officially announced as part of the cast, although there have been plenty of rumors, including one that stated that Reeves had met with Mahershala Ali for the role of Gordon. Commissioner Gordon is one of Batman’s longest-running supporting cast members, making his debut in ‘Detective Comics’ #27, the issue that first introduced the Dark Knight himself. Ben McKenzie recently portrayed a much younger take on Gordon on ‘Gotham’. Before him, Neil Hamilton played the role on the 1960s ‘Batman’ TV show and in the tie-in movie. In film, Lyle Talbot, Pat Hingle, Gary Oldman, and J.K. Simmons have also depicted him. Aisha Tyler Will Host This Year’s Saturn Awards Which Will Be Available To Stream For The First Time Ever

The 45th annual Saturn Awards will be held this Friday, September 13th, at 9:00 pm EST/6pm PST, at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood, and it has been announced that noted fangirl Aisha Tyler will host the event. For the first time, these awards will be broadcast via Cinedigm, Nerdist, the newly launched Pluto TV Sci-Fi Channel, Shout Factory TV, Twitch, WatchMojo.com, and on the Saturn Awards channel on YouTube. Tyler is a notable stand-up comedian and actor. She hosts ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’, plays Doctor Tara Lewis on ‘Criminal Minds’ and provides the voice of Lana Kane on ‘Archer’. (Incidentally, ‘Archer’ is nominated for Best Animated TV Series.) Among her previous credits are ‘The Ghost Whisperer’, ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, ’24’, and ‘Friends’. The Third Season Of ‘Westworld’ Will Be Shorter Than The First Two

Not only is the break between seasons of ‘Westworld’ already massive– about a year and a half– but now HBO has added even more bad news. Season 3 will only be comprised of eight episodes, versus the ten for the first two. One potential saving grace is that ‘Westworld’ episodes aren’t limited to a certain length. While most are about an hour-long, that’s also without commercials, so they are longer than most “hour-long” dramas. The season finales have been 90-minutes long, while the series premiers have been about an hour and ten minutes long, as have a couple of other random episodes. It’s safe to assume that the premier and finale will be extra long, but there is also the possibility that some other episodes may also run over an hour. That’s not a guarantee, but here’s hoping. At the end of last season, Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) escaped into the real world, a futuristic version of Los Angeles, and as we’ve seen in the trailers, she runs into Aaron Paul as Caleb, a new character who is a down-on-his-luck construction worker.
