Disney+ has a multitude of Marvel shows in one form of development or another and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that characters being introduced in the upcoming shows will eventually make their way to the big screen. Or, at least three of them will.
We’ll likely have a ton of new characters that will be introduced in the various shows but the three headliners in ‘Ms. Marvel‘, ‘She-Hulk‘, and ‘Moon Knight‘ will all get at least some time in a future feature film. They’ll likely be either part of a significant team-up story or secondary heroes to another character’s arc, but only time will tell.
The news came directly from Feige on THR’s Awards Chatter podcast where he stated:
“Some characters we’ve announced like She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight you will meet for the first time on a Disney+ show and then they’ll go into the movies but the MCU will now go back and forth.”
Of course, we’ll also see existing characters evolving on their own shows as well:
“We are certainly doing cinematic art-level productions for Disney+. The Falcon and The Winter Solider is currently shooting, and just yesterday, I got back from the set of WandaVision, which is shooting. All of those characters will undergo transformative, very-exciting changes in that show and go into our movies, so they’ll go back and forth.”
Hopefully, this won’t dissuade moviegoers who aren’t planning on subscribing to Disney’s new streaming service.
With all of that in mind, we shouldn’t hold our breath to see any of these new heroes in a Marvel Studios film anytime soon as all three shows that will introduce them have yet to receive release dates. In fact, ‘Hawkeye’ is set for a Fall 2021 release, so unless they plan on adding the shows into the existing schedule, we likely won’t see any of them introduced until 2022 at the earliest.
Are you thrilled that the MCU is finally going to live up to the motto that “It’s all connected”? Which of the three confirmed heroes are you most excited to see introduced and make it to the big screen? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
