Details of the story are being kept mostly under wraps, but Marvel does tell us that both the Scarlet Witch and Doctor Doom will try (and apparently fail to some degree) to contain the Darkhold from wreaking it’s magical destruction across the Marvel Universe.  The company was kind enough to share the covers to two of the upcoming special issues, Darkhold: Iron Man #1 and Darkhold: Blade #1, as well […]

The delay for ‘Doctor Strange’ is probably due to the fact that a new director, Sam Raimi, has just announced that he has officially signed on.  Raimi replaced Scott Derrickson who helmed the first ‘Doctor Strange’ but quit the sequel due to creative differences, which ironically included studio-mandated release dates.  Derrickson had reportedly not begun working on the screenplay before his departure.  Jade Bartlett had been announced as screenwriter last October, but it isn’t clear how much work she did.  In February, Michael Waldron was said to be taking over writing duties. Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Benedict Wong are returning from the first movie.  (Cumberbatch and Wong have appeared in multiple other Marvel movies since.)  Elizabeth Olsen will co-star in her established Marvel role as Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, and her upcoming Disney+ series, ‘WandaVision’ will set […]

Raimi has an affinity for Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme, having slipped an Easter Egg into ‘Spider-Man 2′, in which Ted Raimi’s character suggests “Doctor Strange” as a moniker for the newest villain on the scene, Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina), which J.K. Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson dismisses saying that the name was already taken. While promoting his new Quibi series ’50 States of Frights’ with ComingSoon.com, he revealed that he was officially set to helm the new ‘Doctor Strange’, saying: “I loved Doctor Strange as a kid, but he was always after Spider-Man and Batman for me, he was probably at number five for me of great comic book characters.  He was so original, but […]

There are RUMORS swirling around that ‘WandaVision’ will introduce the teen superhero Hulkling, also known as Teddy Altman, a member of the Young Avengers.  Hulkling is the boyfriend of Wiccan, a.k.a. Billy Kaplan, the son of Scarlet Witch and Vision.  In November, another RUMOR emerged that Billy and his long-lost twin brother, Tommy “Speed” Shepherd were also going to appear on the upcoming Disney+ series.  That rumor was never confirmed.  If Billy isn’t on ‘WandaVision’, then it makes no sense for Teddy to appear. Twitter comic movie reporter Daniel Richtman delivered the Hulkling buzz on Tuesday: Teddy is coming to the MCU pic.twitter.com/63d1hAB0j4 — RPK (@rpk_daniel) January 14, 2020 Then on Thursday, The Illuminerdy (another GOSSIP site) “confirmed” that a young adult or teenage male (16-23) was being sought to play a teenager described as: “A Skrull who requires help from S.W.O.R.D. in order to remain safely on Earth.” Word surfaced last month that S.W.O.R.D. (Sentient World Observation and Response Department) would make its MCU debut on ‘WandaVision’, so this is in keeping with that […]

And I know what you’re thinking: “This article would’ve been better of New Years Day.” Well, I’ve been sick for over a week, but I had to make sure that you guys saw just how what kind of damage these characters could do.  This list is in no particular order and not listed in increasing or decreasing strength. This list also does not have Thanos because I thought he was too obvious. *WARNING: There are spoilers ahead of some shows and films listed.*  Shinichi and Migi (‘Parasyte: The Maxim’) ‘Parasyte: The Maxim’ is a manga series about a teenager whose right hand is taken over by a worm-like creature known as a parasite. While Shinichi is human and does not have his own powers, he and Migi, unlike others who have been intertwined with parasites, still retain their separate identities and personalities. Their strange circumstance gives them an edge in battles against parasites who attack them. Migi can turn his host’s hand into different types of weapons for battle and eventually is able to separate from Shinichi’s body for […]

During an appearance at the New York Film Academy, Feige revealed: “Sometimes you’re choosing title hero, choosing which main character or main team you want to bring to the screen and often times, it’s as you’re making and developing the movie [asking] ‘Who will come into it?’ and ‘Who will fit into it?’  The next Doctor Strange film, for instance, features some new MCU characters which will be making their debut in that movie you won’t expect or won’t guess who it is but we found a cool way to make it work because we want to make a particular type of movie there and there was a character who we always wanted to do something with who will fit really well there.” Let the wild speculation begin!  It is known that Teyonah Parris will make her debut as the adult Monica Rambeau on the Disney+ series ‘WandaVision’ which is known to […]

As he stated at CCPX: “[We have] the opportunity to tell their story, and show more of what Wanda can do, more of what makes Vision, Vision, and most importantly, reveal a name that I’m not even sure we’ve said in the MCU yet, but we make a big deal of in the show, is the fact that Wanda is the Scarlet Witch. And what does that mean, that she is the Scarlet Witch? That’s what we play into with this show in ways that are entirely fun, […]

Everything that has been revealed about ‘WandaVision’ so far makes this sound like a truly unique experience, part old-fashioned sitcom, part Marvel movie, part horror flick.  It will heavily influence the upcoming theatrical movie ‘Doctor Strange in the Madness of the Multiverse’.  Rumor has it, the dream-warping Nightmare will be the villain in both ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Doctor Strange 2’, and Olsen’s Wanda will co-star in ‘Doctor Strange 2’. Now comes a first look at the sitcom side of ‘WandaVision’, which Feige unveiled at CCXP: Here’s the first official on-screen look at Elizabeth Olsen and @Paul_Bettany in the #WandaVision series! pic.twitter.com/Y7WTBPfnT9 — MCU Direct (@MCU_Direct) December 7, 2019 As you can see, and as was hinted at in the previously released concept art, Wanda and Vision are leaning into some sort of ‘Bewitched’-like fantasy life, complete with a nosey neighbor named Agnes (Kathryn Hahn), and possibly even twin sons.  […]

Supervising producer Mary Livanos is featured in the new Disney+ documentary ‘Marvel Studios: Expanding the Universe’, and in one shot, she is seen with a comic book panel of Doctor Strange holding a baby, lifted from the 1985 miniseries ‘The Vision and the Scarlet Witch’, in witch which Wanda used her powers to alter reality to the extent that it allowed her and Vision to not only conceive children (what with him being an android and all) but for her to give birth to twins William and Thomas.   RELATED:  ‘WandaVision’ Will Get “Bonkers” As The Series Progresses   A comic book continuity hot mess, and many years later it was revealed that these two boys grew up and developed powers […]

If her name is not familiar, it’s because she is a relative newcomer.  Her screenplay for ‘Miller’s Girl’ is currently in development, with Bartlett planning to direct herself.  Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogan are attached to produce.  She has also been tapped by Universal to adapt Chloé Esposito’s debut novel ‘Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know’ into a movie, with Michael De Luca producing.  She also penned the most recent draft of the screenplay for the horror movie ‘The Turning’ starring Mackenzie Davis and Finn Wolfhard.  That picture is scheduled for release on January 24, 2020.  Bartlett has appeared as an actor in the TV movie ‘Cinnamon Girl’ and in the Ben Affleck movie ‘The Accountant’.   RELATED:  Screenwriter C. First off, we see both Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision appearing to be living as a perfect family in what could easily be thought of as the 1960s. Once you dig a little further into the picture, though, is when things start to get a bit unsettling. First, let’s take a look at the poster so you can see what we mean: As we know, Vision was killed off in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and the Soul Stone was destroyed by Thanos in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ However, we see Visio sitting here and if you look at his shadow, it would appear that the stone is back as well. Not only that, but Wanda’s shadow appears to have her in a comic book accurate headpiece for her costume. That alone shows that things aren’t quite what they seem and when you throw in the red glow from the television that this loving couple appears to be enjoying and there is another major hint that things are off. While this first image might look to be taking place in the 1960’s […]

The famed geek and director thinks that she not only could have stopped The Mad Titan but killed him as well. While we were able to see Captain Marvel throw Thanos around in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and Thor eventually kill him, Wanda was the first to have a solid chance of bringing his plan to an end. The revelation came during a recent re-watch of the movie where Smith shared that:   SPOILERS! Watched @Avengers twice today. Out of everyone who fought Thanos, Wanda came closest to killing him. At Marvel Studio’s star-studded panel at SDCC, Kevin Feige announced, “If you thought the logo was strange, wait until you see the show,” before introducing Olsen and her costar Paul Bettany, who plays The Vision. “It’s going to get weird, we’re going to get deep.  We’re finally going to understand Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch.” But, um… how is The Vision in it?  He died for real in ‘Infinity War’ (meaning he wasn’t restored in ‘Endgame’).  Bettany offered nothing helpful. “I have no idea.  It’s going to be surprising and weird.” When asked to describe the show in a nutshell, Feige answered: “Exciting and different and strange.” Okay, we get it!  It’s “weird” and “strange.” Considering that they didn’t seem to be able to offer anything concrete about ‘WandaVision’, let’s move along […]

Quicksilver, were not mutants at all, but had gained their abilities due to the experiments of the High Evolutionary.  In reality, this was a political move on the part of Marvel to diminish the importance of the X-Men and mutants in general in the pages of their comics.  (I’ll get to deeper into that in a sec.)   RELATED:  The Russo Brothers Share Why They Magic’d Away Scarlet Witch’s Accent In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’   But now, with Disney having bought 20th Century Fox, things may have changed.  A Reddit user BluRayHiDef posted a photo of a page from the ‘Marvel Studios Visual Dictionary’ and/or ‘Character Encyclopedia’ that recaps Wanda’s origin, which hints that her backstory may have shifted closer to the classic comic origin. “She may be called Scarlet Witch, but Wanda’s powers aren’t derived from the occult.  Whether it altered her or merely […]
