Have you ever wished you could step into Link’s boots and explore the dungeons of Hyrule for yourself? Well, next year you’ll be able to get a one step closer to living that dream, thanks to a new escape room event. Escape rooms, for those who may not be familiar with the concept, are a sort of real life adventure/puzzle game, in which groups of players are locked in a room from which they must escape within a given time limit. In other words, it’s basically ‘Saw II’ without the body horror.

If you think that sounds like the perfect fit for a ‘Legend of Zelda’ theme, you’re not alone. The fine folks at Nintendo and renowned escape room designers SCRAP have teamed up to produce a ‘Zelda’ themed escape room, dubbed ‘The Legend of Zelda: Defenders of the Triforce’. SCRAP is specifically describing this as something other than a typical escape room. According to the event’s website, ‘Defenders of the Triforce’ is a “story-based escape event designed for puzzle fans and fans of the ‘Zelda’ franchise” with an event space that will allow multiple teams to participate at the same time and provide each team with a workspace. In addition to the puzzle itself, ‘Defenders of the Triforce’ will also include photo ops and a promotional lounge, featuring exclusive ‘Zelda’ merchandise.

‘Defenders of the Triforce’ is currently set for an eight city tour of the United States throughout 2017. The current schedule includes stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, and New York. Tickets for the first stops on the tour are now available here.

The latest entry in the series, ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’, will be available on both the Nintendo Wii U and the Nintendo Switch in 2017, though a specific release date has yet to be announced.
