Arrowverse

Not only has The CW shared that their Arrowverse crossover this year would be titled ‘Elseworlds,’ but they’ve dropped a huge Easter Egg in the official poster hinting how it will potentially expand the already established Multiverse. For those unfamiliar with the ‘Elseworlds’ title, it is the equivalent of Marvel’s “What If?” line which basically gave alternate spins on existing worlds. While we don’t know if that will somehow be the plan for this event, we do know that they’ve also shared that “Chaos is coming” which can’t be good for our heroes.

“Invasion!” and “Crisis on Earth-X” were fantastic crossover events but things look to be growing exponentially in this outing. The reason why is that LaMonica Garrett (‘Designated Survivor’) has been cast for the series as Mar Novu who is better known as The Monitor. They are describing him as “an extraterrestrial being of infinite power” who will have a “prominent role” during the event. Now, comic fans know a bit more about Monitors who have to observe the Multiverse and in times of significant crisis have to step in and intervene.

That alone makes it sound like things are going to get serious here.

It should also be noted that with the inclusion of Ruby Rose as Batwoman, Cassandra Jean Amell as Mr. Freeze’s wife, Nora, and finally Jeremy Davies as Arkham Asylum doc John Deegan, somehow Gotham City would be involved. Well, the first teaser poster not only is sending out a call to The Dark Knight but has a bonus inclusion. The full ‘Elseworlds’ poster is below, and if you look closely at the building in the very center, you can just make out a W with the word “Wayne” under it.

Bruce appears to have been active in whichever world this is but it is unclear if that Bat symbol is calling him or Batwoman.

Are you looking forward to this year’s “Arrowverse” crossover? Do you think that the “Elseworlds” name is hinting that we’ll see even another version of Earth be introduced to the story? Will Batman be around or is Bruce Wayne missing or dead here? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
