With ABC Family rebranding as Freeform they are pushing quite a bit of new content and is set to give us the best look yet at their upcoming conspiracy filled superhero show ‘Beyond’. While some of the previous clips from the show have given us hints at what to expect, the first trailer really gives us a bit of a backstory to Holden Matthews and the world he is waking up to after being in a coma for 12 years.
The show itself looks as if it can have potential though the network is off to a rocky start. While ‘Shadowhunters‘ was picked up for a second season, ‘Dead of Summer’ was only able to last one so ratings are going to be extremely important in order for this show to survive. Also, any show on the network still won’t have the attraction of Marvel’s ‘Cloak & Dagger‘ to help pull in ratings due to it’s delayed release.

Synopsis:
Beyond is a one-hour drama about Holden, a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers new abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Now Holden must try and figure out what happened to him during those 12 years; how to survive a world that changed while he was gone; and answer the question, why did this happen to him?
‘Beyond’ will premiere on Freeform on January 2nd, 2017 at 9pm EST.
