With how ‘Twin Peaks’ ended we all have wanted more and thanks to the Television Critics Association press tour we’ve learned that Showtime is interested in pursuing another season! We still don’t know where Mark Frost and David Lynch are on putting a sophomore rebooted season together, but the network would love to see more! Last we had heard, there weren’t any more discussions about it happening but this might mean that view has changed!
Showtime’s programming president Gary Levine was talking about the series and stated:
“We’re thrilled we did Twin Peaks, absolutely thrilled. The work was extraordinary, the fan reaction was extraordinary… It took 25 years for [creators Mark Frost and David Lynch] to go from 1.0 to 2.0. Add to that what David did in the last few years was nothing short of herculean — to direct 18 consecutive hours of television. … It’s a herculean task and he did it so beautifully. I don’t know how soon he wants to do [more]. The door is always open to Mark and David for Twin Peaks — or anything else they want to talk about.”
The network isn’t just open for more ‘Twin Peaks’ but it sounds like they’d love to hear any pitches that these two creators came to them with. The 18-episode reunion run was well received by critics and fans alive. It ended in typical Lynch fashion which gave us more questions than answers and while some of the huge ones that we’ve been waiting 25 years to hear answers for did get resolved, there is still a lot that is up in the air.
Would you be happy to hear if Frost and Lynch would be willing to return to ‘Twin Peaks’ for another outing? Is it possible for these two to actually give us answers or will we always be left wanting more? Share your thoughts below!
