Harley Quinn animated series
DC Universe

It looks like the breakup between The Joker and Harley Quinn wasn’t exactly amicable.  This weekend was supposed to be all about Todd Phillips’ ‘Joker’ movie, but Harley Quinn has been horning in on that action, with the release of a new trailer, four posters, and pictures from her movie ‘Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)’.  Now the Princess of Pranks has made another big announcement!  Or rather DC Universe has.

At the DC Universe panel at New York Comic Con, ‘Harley Quinn’ executive producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker appeared to announced that this adult-skewing animated series will make its premiere on the streaming service on November 29.  This release helps kick off DC Universe’s second year of service.

‘Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco stars as the titular villain, also known as Dr. Harleen Quinzel.  Lake Bell co-stars as her best gal pal, Poison Ivy, with Alan Tudyk voicing her ex, The Joker, as well as Clayface.  Diedrich Bader who previously voiced Batman on ‘The Batman’ and in various other projects, reprises that role here.

The ‘Harley Quinn’ voice cast also includes Jim Rash as The Riddler, Ron Funches as King Shark, Christopher Meloni as Commissioner James Gordon, Tony Hale as Doctor Psycho, J. B. Smoove as Frank the Plant, Jason Alexander as Sy Borgman, Giancarlo Esposito as Lex Luthor, Wanda Sykes as The Queen of Fables, Rahul Kohli as The Scarecrow, Sanaa Lathan as Catwoman, Tom Kenny as Clayface’s Hand, Vanessa Marshall as Princess Diana / Wonder Woman, and Jacob Tremblay as Damian Wayne / Robin.  Also included are James Adomian, Natalie Morales, Matt Oberg, Tisha Campbell-Martin, and Phil LaMarr, although their characters are unknown.  LaMarr voiced Green Lantern (John Stewart) on ‘Justice League’ and ‘Justice League Unlimited’, so that’s a possibility.

DC Universe also announced a new “mixed media” series ‘BizarroTV’:

“A showcase of experimental styles and creative voices and visions that will be a mix of live-action and animation; deep cuts from the DC portfolio of characters such as Space Cabbie, Ambush Bug, Slam Bradley, and the Creeper.”

And they announced the arrival of some direct-to-video movies, ‘Wonder Woman: Bloodlines’, ‘Justice League Dark: Apocalypse’ and ‘Superman: Red Son’.

Are you excited to finally see this new ‘Harley Quinn’ animated series?
