ultraman

The first trailer for Netflix’s ‘Ultraman‘ resonated with many fans and the new one is upping the action! In it, we’re introduced to the new heroes and villains of the series and are given a slew of action sequences which were barely teased in the first one. The new series isn’t a fully original concept either which will be a plus for fans of the source material. In Netflix’s ‘Ultraman,’ we’ll see an adaptation of the sequel manga which was penned by Eiichi Shimizu and illustrated by Tomohiro Shimoguchi.

Also dropping with the new trailer is an updated synopsis compared to the one which was previously released:

Ultraman’s next generation is here and its larger than life! Years ago, the famous giant of light Ultraman worked to protect peace on Earth. Now, a new champion arises: Shinjiro Hayata, a high-school student who must don the Ultra Suit and the worries that come with it. The son of the former Ultraman, he will become this generation’s new hero! Netflix Original Anime Ultraman starts streaming worldwide April 1st, only on Netflix.

The new show has been brought to life by Tsuburaya Productions who just had a massive win with ‘SSSS.Gridman’ which was another revival of a classic franchise. The studio has teamed up with Production I.G., SOLA Digital Arts, and of course Netflix to pull this one off. On the production side of things, we’ll see Kenji Kamiyama (‘Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex’) co-directing the series with Shinji Aramaki (‘Appleseed Alpha’). For voice work the series has Ryohei Kimura as Shinjiro Hayata, Takuya Eguchi as Dan Moroboshi, Megumi Han as Seiji Hokuto, Hideyuki Tanaka as Shin Hayata, Sumire Morohoshi as Rena Sayama, Ken Uo as Mitsuhiro Ide, Shigeru Ushiyama as Edo, Ryota Takeuchi as Jack, Eiji Hanawa as Yosuke Endo, Hirokazu Sekido as Kurata, Kenjiro Tsuda as Adad, Minoru Shiraishi as Shiraishi, and Kaiji Soze as Bemlar. Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi have teamed up to complete the score for the series.

For fans who prefer dubbed anime over subtitles, there has yet to be an announcement if there will be a dubbed release.
