Heroes Of The CW Suit Up In 10 New DC Fandome Posters

Next weekend, DC Comics (an AT&T/WarnerMedia subsidiary) will hold its first-ever virtual fan convention, DC Fandome, and in anticipation of that event, The CW has released posters showcasing its slate in DC shows. Newcomers ‘Stargirl’ (Brec Bassinger) and ‘Superman & Lois’ (Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch) are included along with Cress Williams (Black Lightning/Jefferson Pierce) from ‘Black Lightning’, Grant Gustin (The Flash/Barry Allen) and Candice Patton (Iris West-Allen) from ‘The Flash’, and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl/Kara Danvers) and Nicole Maines (Nia Nal/Dreamer) from ‘Supergirl’. It’s interesting that Patton and Maines get their own posters, when they are supporting castmembers, while The CW’ real ensemble show, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ only gets one poster, depicting Caity Lotz as White Canary/Sara Lance. But the strangest inclusion is the poster for ‘Batwoman’. In May, the show’s lead, Ruby Rose, quit the show. She has since been replaced by Javica Leslie, but due to COVID-19, it doesn’t appear that production has resumed on any of these shows, and Leslie may not have even done a costume fitting yet. DC Fandome Announces Its Full Schedule With Big Name Guests

Fans of DC Comics and its various media had to have been disappointed that none of them were presented at San Diego Comic-Con’s virtual con this year. Instead, the WarnerMedia DC empire is holding its own virtual con, DC Fandome, on August 22. This event will take place for 24 hours. At least from the look of things, DC Fandome will be a more interactive experience (I really don’t need to see another Zoom panel) and “attendees” will be able to explore various virtual areas and get teases from upcoming projects like the movies ‘Aquaman’ (the sequel or the movie that came out two years ago?), ‘The Batman’, ‘Black Adam’, ‘The Suicide Squad’, ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, and HBO Max’s re-edit ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’; and the TV shows ‘Batwoman’, ‘Doom Patrol’, ‘Lucifer’, and ‘Pennyworth’. “Real Heroes Wear Masks” In This Series Of Posters From The CW’s Arrowverse Family

“Real Heroes Wear Masks” tout a new series of posters from The CW featuring some of the stars of its DC Comics-inspired shows. Okay, so these are just photoshopped versions of previously released promo images, but they’re a fun way to hopefully help curb the spread of COVID-19. The posters feature ‘Black Lightning’s Cress Williams, ‘The Flash’s Grant Gustin, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’s Caity Lotz, and ‘Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist, as well as Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, star of the upcoming ‘Superman & Lois’ plus Brec Bassinger, the lead on ‘Stargirl’, another DC show, but one that is not part of the Arrowverse. Yes, there is one glaring omission: Batwoman. Ruby Rose shockingly quit that series in May. And while her replacement, Javica Leslie, was hired last month, she would not have had time to suit up and do a photoshoot. (Although that would’ve been cool, and a big scoop!) The Entire Arrowverse Along With The Rest Of The CW’s New “Fall” Lineup Has Been Pushed To 2021

While most folks have held out hope that things would be back to normal soon, the effects of COVID-19 continue to escalate and The CW is the first network to announce that the usual fall TV rollout will not happen as usual this year. The main problem is that most shows had to cut their current seasons short, so there are still multiple episodes of ‘Batwoman’, ‘The Flash’, and ‘Supergirl’, as well as ‘Riverdale’, ‘Legacies’, and ‘Supernatural’ (which is in its FINAL season), that were left unfilmed. Luckily, ‘Black Lightning’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ were completely wrapped before shutdowns went into effect. Hopefully, the unfilmed episodes will be completed and aired this year, because The CW has declared that its new season won’t begin until at least January 2021! Reportedly, The CW’s new series ‘Superman & Lois’ began production before being shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak, so it’s unclear whether or not it will be able to debut this fall as planned, but rest assured, it is on its way. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch star in the titular roles, but this time, the Man of Steel and his intrepid reporter wife will be seen as they never have before in live-action– as parents. While Lois gave birth to a baby boy last autumn, thanks to the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, they are now the parents to two teenage sons, Jonathan and Jordan. Jonathan is described as “clean-cut, modest and kind-hearted, with an aw-shucks attitude that somehow doesn’t seem dated,” while Jordan is “wildly intelligent, but his mercurial temperament and social anxiety limit his interactions with people, and consequently, Jordan prefers to spend most of his free time alone, playing video games.” Jordan Elsass will portray Jonathan with Alex Garfin as Jordan. ‘Superman & Lois’ Recasts A Former ‘Supergirl’ Character With Dylan Walsh

The CW’s upcoming ‘Superman & Lois’ has recast a character that has previously appeared on ‘Supergirl’. ‘Blue Bloods” Dylan Walsh will portray General Sam Lane, the father of series lead Lois Lane, portrayed by Elizabeth Tulloch, and the father-in-law of Superman himself, played by Tyler Hoechlin. The character of Sam Lane appeared in Season 1 of ‘Supergirl’ and was portrayed by Glenn Morshower. At that time, ‘Supergirl’ aired on CBS and was disconnected from The CW’s shows, but after CBS opted not to renew it for a second season, The CW swooped to the rescue and ‘Supergirl’ has lived on, quite successfully, as part of the Arrowverse. It was previously RUMORED (and still unconfirmed) that another character that has previously appeared on ‘Supergirl’, billionaire media mogul Morgan Edge will also be recast and repurposed for ‘Superman & Lois’. The COVID-19 coronavirus has thrown the entire world into disarray and the entertainment industry is certainly feeling the impact. Luckily for fans, The CW’s Arrowverse shows– ‘The Flash’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, ‘Supergirl’, and ‘Batwoman’— had already finished shooting their current seasons by the time productions started to shut down industry-wide. There were still some issues with post-production, however, which has resulted in a shuffling of their schedules. But now comes word that these four fan-favorites will be back in April. ‘The Flash’ and ‘Legends’ will return with new episodes on Tuesday, April 21. New episodes of ‘Batwoman’ and ‘Supergirl’ will arrive on April 26. This week, The CW is re-airing the massive “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover to help fill the void. Fans of The CW’s longest-running show, ‘Supernatural’, are not so lucky. It was already a tough pill to swallow that the current 15th season is the last, but now the coronavirus has scrambled that. Kicking off Toy Fair 2020 by announcing their return to the name DC Direct, DC Comics in house collectibles team is restating their mission statement of bringing you the best products based on the DC Comics universe direct from the source. ‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier’ Recruits Carl Lumbly, Possibly As Isaiah Bradley

Red Rover, Red Rover… Another DC actor is crossing over to Marvel, as ‘Supergirl’s Carl Lumbly (M’yrnn J’onzz) has been cast in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’. Though it has not been officially confirmed, it is speculated that he is playing Isaiah Bradley, the first Black Captain America, from the 2003 miniseries ‘Truth: Red, White, and Black’. In that story, it was revealed that the American government attempted to recreate the Super Soldier formula that made Steve Rogers the superhuman dynamo Captain America. But this newer formula was tested on African American soldiers (based on the real-life Tuskeegee experiments), but the results weren’t the same. Isaiah Bradley was the only soldier that survived these experiments, but it ultimately damaged his brain. In ‘Avengers: Endgame’, a now-elderly Steve Rogers bequeathed his shield to Sam Wilson, The Falcon (Anthony Mackie). And in the comics, The Falcon became Captain America for a time, so fans are anticipating a similar evolution on ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’. Superman is usually a lighter character, but the Arrowverse isn’t a light place, and even though Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel has been shown as being upbeat most of the time, his world might come crashing down in the new series ‘Superman & Lois’… and I’m not talking about Krypton. The CW has already ordered ‘Superman & Lois’ to series, so expect it to debut in the fall, or in early 2021 at the latest. Superman and Lois’ lives are a bit of a mystery following “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” Prior to the crossover, Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) had just given birth to a baby boy, Jonathan. It was previously revealed that on the upcoming CW series ‘Superman & Lois’, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, Lois will still be the ace reporter she has always been, but Clark will find himself out of a job after a wave of layoffs at the Daily Planet. Now, a detailed synopsis for the first episode has surfaced online and if it’s accurate, we may have some more details about that situation. According to the synopsis posted on Primetimer, Clark is handed a pink slip after the Daily Planet is purchased by the media conglomerate owned by billionaire Morgan Edge, “who doesn’t care about real journalism or even facts.” Morgan Edge, a heavy from the comics, has already appeared on ‘Supergirl’ S3 as portrayed by Adrian Pasdar.
