The casting for the upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘Warning’ has been completed as both Lana Condor (‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’,’X-Men: Apocalypse’) and Benedict Samuel (‘The Walking Dead’,’Gotham’) have taken the last leading roles. The film will be the directorial debut for Agata Alexander and already has been getting some positive early buzz. The screenplay was put together by Alexander, Rob Michaelson, and Jason Kaye with Cybill Lui’s Anova Pictures producing.
As Condor is still attached to Syfy’s upcoming ‘Deadly Class’ it would appear that the timing on production must currently align with her schedule to not have any conflicts. Either that or its hinting that she won’t be surviving the first season.
Condor and Samuel are joining a cast that already includes some amazing talent with the likes of: James D’Arcy (‘Homeland’,’Dunkirk’), Laura Harrier (‘BlacKkKlansman’,’Spider-Man: Homecoming’), Charlotte Le Bon (‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’), Mena Massoud (Disney’s upcoming live-action ‘Aladdin’,Amazon’s ‘Jack Ryan’), and Alex Pettyfer (‘Magic Mike’). With this kind of talent already involved, it is obvious why there is early excitement for the feature.
The film is being compared to the themes that you would find in ‘Wild Tales’ and ‘Black Mirror’ and will be an anthology film that explores “Loneliness, death and the meaning of life, explored through vastly separate lives colliding in interweaving short stories set in future Earth.”
Not even entirely in production yet, the film is already working on its distribution as The Exchange has the international sales rights and will be pitching foreign buyers during the Toronto International Film Festival while ICM Partners is handling North America.
