Disney Announces Delay in Release of ‘Black Panther’ Sequel, ‘Doctor Strange 2’ and More

Disney has announced a delay in the release of multiple Marvel films that are slated to come out over the course of 2022 and 2023. The first major change we see is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness being delayed about a month and a half, thus pushing the films with a following release date about the same. While this news may seem shocking, sources at Deadline claim this is not the result of any major problems, however, is the result of the fact that”some titles are contending with finishing scenarios while others are in production.” That being said, these delays are only for the films that are scheduled to be released and appear to have no effect on the streaming series at Disney+. Below is the full recap of the Marvel release date changes that we know so far. For the longest time, our Marvel superhero options in theme parks were pretty limited. Universal’s Islands of Adventure gave us a cool Hulk rollercoaster and a sweet Spider-Man ride, but those lack the MCU’s flare. Sure, that’s all because of licensing agreements from over twenty years ago, but we want some interactive Tom Holland Spidey action now! Don’t worry. Disney heard our cries and is set to deliver onto us tidings of colorful leather and spandex. 2020 is set to be the year in which significant changes will be happening all across Disney parks worldwide. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be a substantial factor in that metamorphosis. In the coming twelve months, Disney California Adventure Park will be home to the first phase of Avengers Campus. This new land will be entirely dedicated to the heroes and heroines of the MCU in some exciting ways. Peyton Reed Signs On To Direct A Third ‘Ant-Man’ Movie

Peyton Reed has signed on to direct a third ‘Ant-Man’ solo movie. Though it isn’t confirmed at this point, it is expected that Paul Rudd will return as the titular hero, a.k.a. Scott Lang, a former crook-turned-Avenger. This third movie is reportedly planned to begin filming in late 2020, or early 2021, for a 2022 release date. Disney already announced its slate of Phase 4 films at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, which carries the studio into 2021. This is what Marvel Studios has in the pipeline for the next two years: May 1, 2020 – ‘Black Widow’ November 6, 2020 – ‘Eternals’ February 21, 2021 – ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ May 7, 2021 – ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ November 5, 2021 – ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ ‘Ant-Man 3’ joins ‘Blade’ and ‘Black Panther 2’ as part of Phase 5, but none of those has a specific production or release date lined up. When we think of undiscovered Easter Eggs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most fans immediately think of James Gunn huge ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ ones, but there is another place for fans to look. According to director Peyton Reed there are quite a few from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ which have yet to see the light of day and he is even hinting at a few of the scenes where they can be found. While it should come as no surprise that he has mentioned that the Quantum Realm has yet to reveal all of its mysteries to Eagle-Eyed viewers it seems that there are a couple of other locations that we’ll also have to be paying attention to on our next viewing of the film. Peyton Reed Once Pitched A ‘Fantastic Four’ Film Set In The ’60s

Peyton Reed had revealed that long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was even born that he had pitched a Marvel film to 20th Century Fox. It was in the early 2000s and the director wanted to have a ‘Fantastic Four‘ movie set in the ’60s to fit when they had initially been introduced in the comics. Not only that, but he was also not interested in telling an origin story and wanted to get right into the action! Reed loved the idea of the characters and had made a pitch for the movie: “I actually developed Fantastic Four when it was at Fox, and this would have been about 2002 or 2003. The Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) are a more “insider” honor than the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes and less based on popularity than the People’s Choice Awards and many others. Instead, these awards are given to actors by actors. As such, fewer genre projects get honored, but even so, several Marvel properties scored recognition. The cast of ‘Black Panther‘ is up for the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture – Drama Award, facing off against the players from ‘A Star is Born’, ‘BlacKkKlansman’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. In a more technical category, Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture, the stunt crew from ‘Black Panther’ is facing off against those for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. Evangeline Lilly Confesses The Post Credit Scene In ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ Was Initially Much Longer

Fans who needed some comic relief after ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ were thrilled with ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ being able to deliver that, right up to the scene they snuck in after the credits. But now, Evangeline Lilly, the actress who plays Hope van Dyne, a.k.a. the new Wasp in the “Ant-Man” series, recently let us know that what they filmed had gone on longer but it was cut for an excellent reason. If you’ve somehow not seen ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ or the after the credits scenes from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp,’ I do have to warn you that there are spoilers ahead. When Lilly saw the final cut of the scene, she couldn’t help but be surprised: “I kind of got a giggle when I saw the final product, because they basically just cut our reactions out completely and cut to ash. Director Peyton Reed has shared a massive twist that almost made its way into ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp.’ Michelle Pfeiffer‘s Janet van Dyne was almost a villain in the film! After being hinted at still being alive in ‘Ant-Man’ and the primary focus of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne, and Michael Douglas’s Hang Pym being to find Janet in this film, that would have been a shocking revelation for audiences to see. Marvel fans who have seen ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ will remember that the film features one of Stan Lee’s best cameos yet. Now, we can relive the moment, and have a few laughs, as Marvel Studios just released some of the outtakes from the moment. Judging from the footage, Lee was given quite a few super funny lines but the best one was chosen for the final cut. In fact, Paul Rudd explained that the cast referenced the line throughout filming. Lee appears in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ as a citizen minding his own business, walking up to his car. The vehicle magically shrinks after getting hit from a shrinking disc during the major car chase scene. In the cut, Lee says: “Well, the 60s were fun, but now I’m paying for it.” Rudd appears in the bonus content from the film speaking about Lee, and says that he is a “lovely guy,” referring to him as The Man. A Cut ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ Scene Introduced A New Character!

Two new scenes which were cut from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp‘ were recently released and one of them introduced an entirely new life form into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first of the two scenes was entertaining and featured Walton Goggins back as Sonny Burch. There isn’t much in that scene that adds to the story, but it did give him a bit more screen time and was entertaining. Honestly, I’m not broken up that it was cut as it didn’t add that much to the villain’s character. The second scene though is quite a bit more exciting and takes place closer to the end of the film. Here, we’re put back in the scene where Michael Douglas’s Hank Pym has entered the Quantum Realm to save his wife Janet Van Dyne played by Michelle Pfeiffer. This is after their reunion, and they appear to be traveling somewhere. The interesting part here is that a creature which is larger than them in their current state stops in front of them and Janet can communicate with it which allows the couple to pass. After all, there’s much more buzz about Brie Larson starring in her own solo movie, ‘Captain Marvel’ which comes out next February. However, Lilly isn’t jealous and states that even after kicking butt in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ and becoming something of a breakout star, she doesn’t even want her own solo movie.
