Richard E Grant has confirmed that the studio behind ‘Star Wars Episode IX’ has gone to “extraordinary” measures to keep spoilers from getting out!

Appearing on ‘The One Show,’ Grant explained the lengths that Disney goes to in order to keep their films safe from leaks, and it sounds intense! Grant said:

“It’s extraordinary. They don’t give you a script, you have to go to a room where there are bodyguards outside, closed-circuit television cameras, and it’s printed on crimson pages so you can’t photograph it. You have to read it in there, and then leave.”

‘The One Show’ host Alex Jones asked how the actors were able to memorize their lines if they are not given a script. To which Grant replied:

“You’re given the pages on the day that you work, and you have to sign for them and sign out for them as well. There are security guards on the set.”

Grant also mentioned that the production crew is always on the lookout for wild drones as well, saying that actors remain hidden as they’re taken to and from the set so that no pictures of them in costume can be captured. Grant said:

“They give you a cloak, over your head – because apparently they have drones going over Pinewood Studios so they try and take photographs of what people are playing.”

Grant is a new addition to the upcoming JJ Abrams’ sequel, and while his role in the film has not been announced, he shut down any rumors that he may be playing Thrawn. He was asked last year if he may be playing the character who first appeared in the 1991 novel ‘Heir to the Empire.’ Grant said:

“I’m not playing the ‘Star Wars’ character you just mentioned. I’m not allowed to tell you anything. Otherwise I would be fired. It’s a complete lockdown on any information whatsoever.”

‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ will be released in the UK on December 19, 2019, and in the US on December 20, 2019. Check back for more news as it becomes available!
