Netflix’s upcoming ‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ is still mostly shrouded in mystery but it sounds like they aren’t limiting it to a single season. As DreamWorks Animation has had a successful run of ongoing animated shows on the streaming service that should come as no surprise but we’re thrilled that director Colin Trevorrow was able to let us know that if the series is well received that there will be future seasons put into development.
Trevorrow confirmed this detail when talking about this weekend’s upcoming surprise short set in the ‘Jurassic World’ universe called ‘Battle at Big Rock‘ which is set to be released on FX.

As to addressing if the series will be an ongoing one, Trevorrow specified:
“Camp Cretaceous. The animation is gorgeous, it’s really exciting and emotional. I think kids are going to love these characters. The writers are so deeply invested in making something we can all be proud of. If it’s a hit and people want more, we’re ready. Just say the word.”
We’re still unsure as to the exact details of the show but do know that it will follow “a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. But when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are stranded. Unable to reach the outside world, they’ll need to go from strangers to friends to family if they’re going to survive.”
