Annabelle is back and the Warrens have placed her someplace where she can’t do any harm– inside of an unlocked glass case, inside of an easily unlocked room, in their house right smack in the middle of a populated suburb. What could go wrong?
Well, for starters, they can decide that their 10-year-old daughter Judy (Mckenna Grace) isn’t old enough to stay home alone, and hire a nosey teenager (Katie Sarife) to babysit. Because babysitters and the supernatural go together like cookies and battery acid.
Before you can say “Don’t touch that, you dumbass!” Annabelle is free of her glass case and drawing the spirits of the undead to the Warrens’ neighborhood.

Gary Dauberman, who co-wrote ‘Annabelle’, ‘Annabelle: Creation’, and ‘The Nun’ in this series, makes his directorial debut with ‘Annabelle Comes Home’, with a script he penned with producer James Wan. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, along with Steve Coulter as Father Gordon. Madison Iseman also stars.
Wan described ‘Annabelle Comes Home’ as “basically A Night at the Museum, with Annabelle!” Meaning that this evil doll isn’t the only mystical artifact in the Warren’s (once again) unlocked storage room that will be creating a living nightmare in the ‘burbs. “Annabelle basically activates all the other haunted artifacts in that room,” Wan added.
Last year, Dauberman discussed the film, saying:
“It really picks up with the Warrens bringing Annabelle to the place where it can really no longer wreak havoc, which is their artifact room. But, of course, it turns out she can also wreak havoc there. And she really awakens the evil within that room and they target the Warrens’ 10-year-old daughter, Judy. So, that’s the setup.”
Before ‘Annabelle Comes Home’, another movie set within the ‘Conjuring’-verse arrives, ‘The Curse of La Llorona’ will chill theaters, when it opens on April 19. ‘Annabelle Comes Home’ arrives on June 28.
