ET. The series was originally expected to air in 2019 with the episodes “Exodus Part 1 & 2.” In the past decade, remakes have become a pillar in the film and television industry. The show follows the ThunderCats’ recently commissioned leader, the brave Lion-O as he leads his clan off of their dying home planet of Thundera to settle on Third Earth, which is also the home of the villainous Mumm-Ra.  Episodes “The Legend of Boggy Ben” and “Prank Call” will air on the following Saturday, February 29. Originally airing from 1985 to 1989. ‘ThunderCats’ had a cast of characters that included Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, Snarf, and WilyKit and WilyKat. It has been alleged that ‘ThunderCats Roar’  will attempt to stay close to the same concept of the original show while highlighting the comedy and action. And I know what you’re thinking: “This article would’ve been better of New Years Day.” Well, I’ve been sick for over a week, but I had to make sure that you guys saw just how what kind of damage these characters could do.  This list is in no particular order and not listed in increasing or decreasing strength. This list also does not have Thanos because I thought he was too obvious. *WARNING: There are spoilers ahead of some shows and films listed.*  Shinichi and Migi (‘Parasyte: The Maxim’) ‘Parasyte: The Maxim’ is a manga series about a teenager whose right hand is taken over by a worm-like creature known as a parasite. Their strange circumstance gives them an edge in battles against parasites who attack them. While promoting his new series ‘V Wars’, the 40-year-old actor revealed that he could see himself returning to the franchise created by Julie Plec, but not in the way that fans would expect. Somerhalder told ET: “I actually would love to talk to Jules. I would love to go and direct one of [the ‘Legacies’ episodes]… I know Paul [Wesley] went to do it and he called me and he’s like, ‘Bro, this is f**king crazy.’ Because it’s all of our old sets, which is a time warp, 10 years ago. He’s just going, ‘Dude!’ He was actually kind of emotional about it, he goes ‘This is crazy!'” After spending 8 years on ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ the series concluded with Damon and his longtime lover Elena Gilbert played by the talented Nina Dobrev becoming humans and starting a family together in 2017. “We spent eight years on the show, and now it’s two years later, and we’re still talking about it […]

Clarke, who starred as Daenerys Targaryen (aka The Mother of Dragons and Breaker of Chains) on the HBO fantasy series, disclosed on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast that since her breakout role in ‘Game of Thrones,’ she has become “a lot more savvy about what I’m comfortable with, and what I am OK with doing,” in terms of onscreen nudity.  The Primetime Emmy Award nominated actress recollects having arguments on the sets of other projects where the fights would start with her saying, “‘No, the sheet stays up” and they would counter at her with, ‘You don’t want to disappoint your ‘Game of Thrones’ fans.’  As a no-name actress “fresh from drama school” when she was cast,  Clarke also thought back to being asked to do several nude scenes right away during her first season of ‘Game of Thrones.’ “Season 1 was what it was,” she says. “It was a f–k ton of nudity… it […]

David Harbour Initially Thought ‘Stranger Things’ Wouldn’t Last https://sciencefiction.com/2019/11/20/david-harbour-initially-thought-stranger-things-wouldnt-last/ https://sciencefiction.com/2019/11/20/david-harbour-initially-thought-stranger-things-wouldnt-last/#disqus_thread Thu, 21 Nov 2019 00:57:10 +0000 https://sciencefiction.com/?p=343678 The summer of 2016 saw the premiere of Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things‘ become one of the streaming service’s biggest and most profitable series of that year. Some were initially unsure of how far the show would go. David Harbour who stars as Chief Jim Hopper is one of those people most surprised by the success of  ‘Stranger Things” as he originally thought the series would end shortly after its debut. His initial apprehension is understandable, stemming from the series’ featuring a young cast that lacked major stars, virtually unknown creators, and the fact that the series came almost out of nowhere.  Harbour spoke of his original trepidation on the fate of the show at an appearance on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.’    “I was sure it was gonna be a complete disaster and a big failure, because, before it came out — I remember when we were shooting, too, we would all sit around talking about how terrible it was gonna be, mainly because of my performance. I thought I was tanking the whole show. And then, before it came out, you normally see things on buses. I live in New York. I’m wandering around, buses, phone […]

Uncut Version Of ‘Gargoyles’ Is Streaming On Disney+ https://sciencefiction.com/2019/11/15/uncut-version-of-gargoyles-is-streaming-on-disney/ https://sciencefiction.com/2019/11/15/uncut-version-of-gargoyles-is-streaming-on-disney/#disqus_thread Fri, 15 Nov 2019 16:30:00 +0000 https://sciencefiction.com/?p=343116 ‘Gargoyles’ has become quite a hot subject lately since the launch of Disney+. If you’re rewatching the hit 90s show you might have noticed some slight differences from when it was syndicated. This is due to Disney+ having the original, completely unedited versions of the animated series. Originally brought to light by @GregXB, it has been confirmed that the unedited episodes are streamed on the service. FYI, when we say unedited or uncensored, we don’t mean Goliath or any other gargoyles are flying around New York ripping out the hearts of bad guys or using language that would make a mother set a parental block for her child; the classic just had some heavier content when it first aired. An example of what I mean was inarguably one of the most controversial episodes “Deadly Force,” when Broadway, the clan’s “gentle giant,” accidentally shoots Elisa with a pistol. Have you ever heard the phrase “curiosity killed the cat?” Well, Broadway, never having held a gun before, lets his curiosity get the best of him and he nearly kills Elisa.  The subsequent scene shows blood on the character’s hands and was eventually edited out. At one point, the episode was considered to […]

In a recent interview with BuzzFeed, the actress spoke on her favorite episodes for the entire series, picking three that align perfectly with many fans’ favorite episodes, ranging from creative plot continuity to the most heart-wrenching and gut-punching of episodes. When asked to rank her top three favorite episodes, Gellar picked them all concisely, stating: “‘The Body,’ ‘The Prom,’ and the silent episode, ‘Hush.'” For those unfamiliar, “The Body” is one of the most heart-rending episodes from the entire series, premiering after the mid-season finale of Season 5 and delivering one of the most emotional storylines as Buffy and the rest of the Scoobies deal with the fallout of her mother’s abrupt death. “The Prom”, which debuted prior to the 2-part Season 3 finale, sees the Slayer attend her senior year prom with her vampire lover Angel  also attending as […]

Later in the afternoon, the creator of the popular series took to Twitter to officially endorse #KeepBingingGargoyles, a movement started in hopes of sparking a discussion for a revival at Disney. A similar social media campaign, as Greg Weisman mentions, is what eventually brought back ‘Young Justice’, another show he helped create and currently develops on DC Universe after its cancellation from Cartoon Network.  We [can] Live Again! #KeepBingingGargoyles on #DisneyPlus!! This is exactly how the #YoungJustice fandom brought YJ back. It can happen to #Gargoyles too! — Greg Weisman (@Greg_Weisman) November 12, 2019 “We [can] Live Again!,” Weisman tweeted, which is a nod to the show’s original theme sequence. “#KeepBingingGargoyles on #DisneyPlus!! This is exactly how the #YoungJustice fandom brought YJ back. It can happen to #Gargoyles too!” Weisman isn’t the only ‘Gargoyles’ alum wanting to see the show return. Earlier this year Keith David, the voice behind ‘Gargoyles’ lead character Goliath, admitted that he was totally on board with the idea of him returning for a revival. “You know, those of us who were involved from the beginning… I’ve […]

Horror films are an example of these timeless genre films with the ability to leave and come back, adding new fans while also bring back fans. Most recently, 2018 saw the successful return of ‘Halloween’, opening the door for a resurgence of other slasher flicks. Now Elijah Wood is openly expressing interest in bringing back Wes Craven’s famous ‘Nightmare on Elm Street.’ The last ‘Nightmare on Elm Street‘ film was the 2010 reboot, which wasn’t the best film to come out from the franchise, but it was a nice fresh film to bring the franchise back to life. Due to the low ratings and mostly negative reviews, it was obvious at the time that there would be no immediate sequel following up. In a joint interview with Daniel Noah and Wood who own a production company together, Noah spoke on some of his favorite horror projects and tells the publication: “We’ve made no secret. We’ve been in touch with the rights holders many times. It’s a real dream project for us to have a chance to make a film in that franchise. And like I […]

The second episode of the new season introduced her former bodyguard and lover who had been sent to Earth to bring her back home. A villian in the comics, Blackfire has taken over the throne since her sister failed to return home. Shortly after this is information is shared with Starfire, Faddei (Starfire’s Tamaranean lover and bodygaurd) is possessed by some strange force; he is later revealed to be under the influence of Blackfire. But one touchy subject ‘The Original Series’ never addressed is same-sex relationships. George Takei, now a well-known voice in the LGBTQ community, played Mr. Sulu in ‘Star Trek: The Original Series.’ Speaking to PBS NewsHour, Takei says creator Gene Roddenberry was hesitant to introduce a gay character after airing the episode “Plato’s Stepchildren.” This particular episode included an interracial kiss between Capt. Kirk (William Shatner) and Lt. Uhura (Nichelle Nichols). In the interview, Takei (still closeted at the time) states that he had proposed an idea about making an episode with a gay character to Roddenberry. He recalls Roddenberry saying, “You’re right, I’d like to do that, but I’m walking a tightrope. The interracial kiss was very controversial… And so I’ve got to keep the show on to tell the stories that I’m telling, which aren’t being dramatized metaphorically on any other show. I’ve got to keep the show on. And [a gay character], as you say, may be a bridge too far.”   This is completely understandable if you think about the social climate of that time period. Actually, a […]
