‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ is coming back to unleash their harsh riffing on a slew of films. The trailer for ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ Season 12 shows the gang riffing on the 1988 copy of ‘E.T.,’ ‘Mac and Me,’ alongside other films!
Netflix will host the show with Jonah Ray, Felicia Day, Patton Oswalt all reviving their roles, joined, of course, by Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo and Gypsy. Read on for the list of shows that will be featured in Season 12!
• ‘Mac and Me:’ This 1988 film, directed by Stewart Raffill’s was a box-office-failure. The sci-fi flick featured a wheelchair-bound boy and his NASA-escaped alien friend, MAC (Mysterious Alien Creature). Or, the poor man’s ‘E.T.’
• ‘Atlantic Rim:’ Director Jared Cohn brought this film to life in 2013. If the title sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because the film strategically hopped on the bandwagon of the popular film, ‘Pacific Rim.’
• ‘Lords of the Deep:’ Mary Ann Fisher’s undersea thriller from 1983 opened in theaters right before James Cameron’s ‘The Abyss.’
• ‘The Day Time Ended:’ In 1980, director John “Bud” Cardos created this film, which followed a middle-class family’s encounter with extraterrestrials, which leads to them being taken back in time to a prehistoric era.
• ‘Killer Fish:’ Antonio Margheriti’s horror film from 1979 was about an undersea jewel heist in piranha-infested waters.
• ‘Ator, the Fighting Eagle:’ Joe D’Amato’s film was 1982 tried to capitalize on the popularity of ‘Conan: The Barbarian’ with his fantasy film depicting a loincloth-clad warrior who must rescue his step-sister/love-interest from the dark priest who slaughtered his village. Fun!
