If there was ever a pilot that was meant to succeed, it has to be the new NBC pilot ‘Revolution.’ The show was written by ‘Supernatural’ creator and scribe, Eric Kripke, and is being produced by the team that brought us ‘Star Trek’, ‘Alias,’ ‘Lost, and ‘Fringe,’ J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burke. Now Deadline is reporting that ‘Iron Man’ director Jon Favreau will be at the helm of the project.
‘Revolution’ is being described as an epic adventure thriller about a family struggling to survive and trying to reunite with loved ones in a post-apocalyptic world where all forms of energy has mysteriously blacked out.
This marks the first drama pilot directing gig for Favreau, who has helmed a few comedy pilots in the past, including that for the ABC series ‘In Case Of Emergency’ starring David Arquette and an episode of the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ show.
No cast decisions have been made yet but it looks like it will be soon now that they have a director in place. Also, since ‘Revolution’ is under a pilot order, there are no confirmations as to when it will air or if it will go to series. But we’ll let you know once we hear!
