The Internet is abuzz with new rumors concerning the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios announced its Phase 4 movies and TV series in July at San Diego Comic-Con. Yes, a decade of film-making and the Avengers’ Battle Royale has come to a close. A new generation comes in with fresher ideas and concepts, experiments, renewed diversity and yes, the affirmation of female power. Thor, anyone? Yes, the mantle of Mjolnir has officially been passed to a female!
Now, onto the news! Wait, let’s hear it! Have you guessed? According to rumor, Marvel villain Nightmare is set to be the big baddie in both ‘WandaVision‘ and ‘Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness’. Both are currently scheduled for release in 2021.

‘WandaVision’ is set to release as a limited TV series on Disney+ in early 2021. ‘Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness’ is set to release in May 2021. Murphy’s Multiverse spills the news:
“We know that ‘WandaVision’ will be part-sitcom homage and part MCU spectacle and that it will lead directly into ‘Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness,’ said to be Marvel Studios first true foray into the horror genre.
They are part of a sort of dream-like reality in which Wanda has found herself, perhaps even at the mercy of Nightmare. Imagine how unhappy Wanda would be to awaken from reality where she’s been reunited with Vision and has been raising a family.”
Nightmare being the villain makes sense since ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ were announced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige as related projects. ‘Doctor Strange’ director Scott Derrickson actually wanted to use the villain in his film and last year, C. Robert Cargill, the film’s writer, teased that the sequel would feature the villain.

How much truth there is in this rumor remains to be confirmed by Marvel Studios. The reality might turn out completely different and Nightmare might be used in a completely different way, maybe setting up another major villain like Lady Death or Mephisto. It would make sense to include Lady Death since the Avengers just beat death by playing God with the Infinity Stones.
Adding another rumor, it looks like Lady Death is actually in talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ComicBookGlobal reports the rumor that Eva Green is in talks to play Lady Death in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Since the TV series and the film are connected, we will wait and see.
