It will almost assuredly be a trivia question years from now: who was the first character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get a fourth solo film? The answer, of course, will be Thor Odinson, and the film will be the movie that’s next headed to cinemas for audiences to enjoy: ‘Thor: Love and Thunder.’ The impending superhero film comes with a few twists and “extras,” however. The story will see not only Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as the iconic God of Thunder, but Natalie Portman also returns to the franchise – not just as mild-mannered human scientist and Thor’s love interest, Jane Foster, but ALSO as The Might Thor, wielding the reconstructed Mjolnir hammer and sporting some serious superhero(ine) cred of her own. Oh, and the fan-favorite Guardians of the Galaxy also feature in the film. There should be a lot to take in from this one! Hollywood may be shut down, but that doesn’t mean that nothing is going on behind the scenes. Fans are still looking forward to all the big movies that were announced before the COVID-19 outbreak, including those that haven’t begun filming yet. One of the most anticipated movies coming in the next couple of years is ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ to be directed by Taika Waititi, who helmed the fan-beloved ‘Thor: Ragnarok’. Waititi held an Instagram Live watch party of ‘Ragnarok’, during which he spilled a few details regarding what fans can… and cannot… expect from ‘Love and Thunder’. Discussing the new picture, Waititi admitted: “It’s so over the top now in the very best way. Tessa Thompson Confirms Christian Bale Is Playing The Villain In ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’

Christian Bale is officially playing the villain in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, at least according to star Tessa Thompson. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Thompson expressed: “Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic. I’ve read the script. I can’t tell you much. Lots of exciting text messages exchanged between Natalie and I. We’re going to have fun. Taika is writing [and] directing. Some familiar faces. Some new people coming into the mix.” Indeed, Taika Waititi reinvigorated the ‘Thor’ franchise with ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, following the first two, far more serious movies in the series. The director recently won his first Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for ‘Jojo Rabbit’. He will be back to write and direct ‘Love and Thunder’. He will also lend his voice to rock man Korg, as he has in ‘Ragnarok’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Looks like fans are getting a crossover they never thought they’d see — the Dark Knight in a Marvel movie! Christian Bale, who starred in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy, is in talks to return to the comic book genre in Taika Waititi‘s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’. His role is being kept secret, but with a star of this calibre, it’s sure to be a big one. Waititi himself is a veteran of the DC movie franchises, having portrayed Thomas Kalmaku, Hal Jordan’s roommate in ‘Green Lantern’. Speaking of ‘Green Lantern’, Ryan Reynolds played the titular hero before playing a Marvel character in ‘Deadpool’, but that was under 20th Century Fox, prior to Disney’s purchase of the studio. Angela Bassett portrayed Amanda Waller in that film, and Queen Ramonda in ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. And speaking of ‘Endgame’, the Big Bad of the MCU, Josh Brolin/Thanos, also portrayed the DC cowboy antihero in ‘Jonah Hex’. There will always be a debate on who was the best live-action ‘Batman,’ but it is hard to argue that Christian Bale as Batman wasn’t an iconic one. Now, the actor is sharing why director Christopher Nolan didn’t return for a fourth movie which is something Warner Bros. had hoped would happen. Yes, “The Dark Knight” trilogy did end on a weaker note but even with that in mind, it was one of the most successful takes of the character to date financially, which is why the studio most likely wanted another outing with the character. Nolan always wanted ‘The Dark Knight’ films it to be a trilogy but also never felt safe that they would have a chance to make a sequel let alone three films. Even though Christian Bale had starred in Christopher Nolan‘s ‘Batman Begins’ in 2005, in 2007, Warner Brothers was desperately hoping to launch a shared cinematic universe based on DC Comics, so they announced ‘Justice League: Mortal’, to be directed by George Miller (‘Mad Max: Fury Road’). This film would take place in its own universe, separate from Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight’ films as well as 2006’s ‘Superman Returns’ which was a box office disappointment. That meant a new Batman and Superman would be needed. D.J. Cotrona was cast as Superman, while a then-unknown Armie Hammer was selected to play Batman. The production was stalled by a writers strike in Hollywood, and even though the cast had been gathered and sets constructed in Australia, the entire film was eventually scrapped, in favor of a solo ‘Green Lantern’ movie, which was hoped to help establish a shared universe the way ‘Iron Man’ had for Marvel. Kevin Conroy might be best known for playing tough guy Batman in various DC animated projects including the groundbreaking ‘Batman: The Animated Series’, but he’s actually a lovely and very professional guy. Even so, fans managed to get him to say something not-so-nice about another Batman actor– Christian Bale. It’s extremely rare for an actor playing a role that many others have played to compare themselves or critique another’s interpretation, but Conroy is a voice actor so he knows a thing or two about voices and he admits that he found Bale’s take “weird.” While fielding fan questions at CMC London Comic Con, he reluctantly stated: “It sounded weird! I know that fans are all trying to forget about ‘Terminator Salvation‘ but the topic recently came up to star Christian Bale (‘The Dark Knight Rises‘) and he spoke up about it and that infamous moment where he had an outburst on set. McG’s take on the ‘Terminator’ franchise never went over well with audiences and was marred from the offset for Bale when he was recorded screaming profanities on the set. While he initially had hope for the film, it didn’t take long into production for him to realize that things weren’t quite going in the direction that he had hoped they were. “I said no three times. I thought that the franchise…I went ‘Nah, there’s no story there.’ I’d seen seen the first one and enjoyed that back in England, I’d been to the movies and seen the second one. We’ve all seen the meme where Christian Bale met Donald Trump while filming ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ before the 45th President of the United States made his political bid and now we’ve learned a bit of the backstory behind the photo. While playing Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s film, we saw Bale take on the part of a rich playboy. He was clearly portraying a person most of us wouldn’t want to meet, however, Trump’s response to the actor seemed exactly how Wayne would have been pretending to be like in the films. Christopher Nolan’s trilogy of ‘Batman’ films is a seminal work of superhero cinema, but the third installment has always been somewhat troublesome. Despite being a solid film in its own right, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ was never quite embraced to the same extent as either of its predecessors, ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘The Dark Knight’. Whether this is because of its own shortcomings or the nigh-insurmountable expectations that came in the wake of the record setting success of ‘The Dark Knight’ is a question fans will be debating for years to come. But fan reaction isn’t the only baggage that film’s legacy carries with it. At a midnight screening on the film’s release date in Aurora, Colorado, a gunman entered the theater and opened fire. After some fifteen minutes of chaos, police were able to subdue the gunman. When all was said and done, the incident had surpassed the 1999 Columbine massacre as the deadliest mass shooting in Colorado’s history, leaving twelve people were dead and a further seventy injured. No Joke, Christian Bale Hasn’t Seen Affleck’s Take On Batman Yet

Recently we’ve learned that Christian Bale was interested in visiting a galaxy far far away and almost joined ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story,’ and now we’ve got an interesting tidbit on his take on comic movies. For starters, while he’s “interested” in seeing Ben Affleck’s take on Batman it seems that he’s just “not a huge superhero film fan.” Of course, everyone has their own opinions on these films but you could often imagine that someone working in such an iconic superhero movie that they’d be interested in the others that come out. At least we know that Bale, who has some fantastic talent, was super into Star Wars as a kid and he still enjoys some of our geeky tastes! There was a rumor that Christian Bale was up for the role that Woody Harrelson took in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story‘ and now that seems to have been confirmed. Not only that, but it sounds as if Bale would be very interested in working within the franchise in the future! He claims it was “tempting” but didn’t share why he ended up not taking the part. The reason he would love to be a part of the franchise though has everything to do with the fact that he is a ‘Star Wars’ fan from childhood and even still has toys of both the Millennium Falcon and an At-At in his collection! Bale Out: Zach Snyder Discusses Casting Christian Bale In DCEU, Just Not As Batman

In what could be described as complete and utter insanity, it has recently been revealed that ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ director Zach Snyder did originally want to offer Christian Bale a role in the film, though not the role you would expect. You see, according to a recent interview with FilmInk, Snyder explains that certain Warner Bros executives could simply not grasp the idea that the new films were taking place in an entirely different universe than the Christopher Nolan films, and had repeatedly asked whether or not they could get Christian Bale to return as Batman. In order to thwart that idea and make sure it was understood that this was not the Nolan Universe, it seems Snyder wanted to offer Bale a brand new role, like maybe Wayne’s butler Alfred, just to make it 100% clear that this is not the same Batman that Bale played, and to hammer home the different universe notion to the executives. It seems Christian Bale might not ever escape the shadow of the Batman, as years after the end of Nolan’s epic ‘Dark Knight Trilogy’ the actor is still hounded by fans for answers to questions they have about the franchise. The latest question, and one that surprised me, was about whether or not the end of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ was just a dream. Seems some people think the whole story wrapped up a little too neatly, and ever since Nolan made ‘Inception,’ apparently some people think he’s going to end every movie with a dream sequence (although that theory might make more sense for the end of ‘Interstellar’). Here’s what Bale had to say on the matter when asked about it during a SiriusXm Town Hall meeting to promote ‘Exodus’ : “[Alfred] was just content with me being alive, because that was always the life that he wanted for [Bruce].
