Decadent Publishing proudly announced today’s release of ‘Twice Upon a Time – Faery Tales With a Dash of Modern Magic’. One hundred percent of all author royalties from the book will go to help defray the medical expenses of fellow author and Romantic Times Faery Court member, Tina Gerow, having recently been diagnosed as having Arteriovenous Malformation.

In late 2010, while at a book signing and doing what she loves best–meeting her reader fans–author Tina Gerow was struck with symptoms of this dangerous medical condition. A series of operations ensued, along with a lengthy hospital stay and rehabilitation. Medical expenses can add up rapidly in situations like this and, as it often does, the literary community steps in to help however they can. This book is the result of an outpouring of just a few of Tina’s friends from the Romantic Times Faery Court.

This one-of-a-kind anthology includes the literary talents of Eden Robins, Amanda McIntyre, Sahara Kelly, Taige Crenshaw, Vijaya Schartz, Janet Miller, Joy Nash, Liddy Midnight and Kayce Lassiter…and of course a contribution from you–the buyer of this book! Every author is donating 100% of their royalties to the fund established to assist Tina with her medical bills. It is available in both e-book and printed format.

Executive Editor Heather Bennett states, “Rehabilitation after brain surgery is a lengthy and expensive process. Decadent Publishing is honored to be a part of this project. We wish Tina a speedy and complete recovery.”

Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are defects of the circulatory system that are generally believed to congenital in nature. Although AVMs can develop in many different sites, those located in the brain or spinal cord can have especially widespread effects on the body. Most people with neurological AVMs experience few, if any, significant symptoms. The malformations tend to be found accidentally, usually either at autopsy or during treatment for an unrelated disorder. But for about 12 percent of the affected population (like in Tina’s case), these abnormalities can cause symptoms that vary greatly in severity.
