Ron Howard is always happy to give fans insights on his films and the director has shared a few fun new status updates as well as a shot from what looks to be an epic space battle in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’. While we’re still unsure how all of the behind-the-scenes issues of putting the film together might play out, Howard is once again assuring us that it will hit the May 25th, 2018 release date.
In fact, the director has teased that he is ahead of schedule!
First, though, you probably want to get a look at the space battle which shows a few Tie Fighter pilots not having a good day:

One would suspect that if a young Han Solo is directly involved in this scene, it will be after he has already washed out of the Imperial Flight Academy.
As for the updates? We have a few! First was the sound mix going full steam ahead and ahead of schedule:

As to this one, a fan was asking if we’d get another trailer and it looks like we will be! No word as to when but one can hope it will be soon. Maybe on Star Wars Day we’ll be getting one so we can all wish “May the 4th be with you” while checking out a young Solo in action!

Finally, Howard shares that the final stages of post are happening with nearly two months until release!

Disney has proven with the Marvel Cinematic Universe that they are doing great at all of their new franchise pickups. While ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ has suffered quite a bit of backlash, it still ended up being the top film of 2017 so we’ll see if that trend can continue here.
Are you looking forward to ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ or do you need another trailer first? Do you feel that there is a future for these stand-alone films or would you prefer more of a focus on trilogies? Share your thoughts below!
