Rhett Reese Doesn't Think Deadpool 3 Will Be Part Of The MCU

Fans of the “Deadpool” franchise have been dying to know more about ‘Deadpool 3.’ Will it still have an R-Rating now that Disney owns the franchise? Will we see Wade Wilson join the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Can the Merc with the Mouth exist in a bubble if the X-Men are joining the MCU and he isn’t? Well, co-writer Rhett Reese has shared his thoughts about the future of ‘Deadpool.’

The news comes as Reese and co-writer Paul Wernick were out promoting the home release of ‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ in an interview with Screen Rant.

While Marvel Studios or Disney hasn’t confirmed this, Reese doesn’t think that Deadpool will be joining the MCU which will allow them the freedom to keep the next film rated R:

“Absolutely, because I don’t think it’ll be under the Disney banner. Like, I don’t think when you go to Deadpool 3, there’s going to be a Magic Castle that appears. I think it’s going to be under the Fox banner, so yes.”

Fans of the franchise will be thrilled to hear about the rating, but this news will sadden anyone hoping that the Merc with the Mouth might be sharing some screen time with any of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Not only will this limit the X-Men we could see Ryan Reynolds working with on the big screen, but it also sounds like we won’t be seeing Deadpool going toe-to-toe with any form of Wolverine.

It seems highly unlikely that the MCU wouldn’t be including the next iteration of Logan in their future plan, so if this proves to be accurate, it is a crossover we won’t end up seeing.
