Fresh from the collective oven of the Internet, it’s an all new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! Things seemed a little quiet this week, but none-the-less, we’ve found lots of cool new stuff to talk about! With a few new announcements and a closer look at a lot of stuff we saw at Toy Fair, there’s always something new in Toy News Tuesday! Check out the Toy News for the week of March 24th, 2015!
In Space, No One Can Hear You Slime
While there isn’t much information on it just yet, Super7 just announced an all new ALIEN figure is coming our way! In collaboration with Secret Base, Super7 (the team that brought us the ‘ALIEN’ ReAction line alongside Funko) is bringing us an all new 4″ Green Slime ALIEN soft vinyl figure! The release from Super7 is below-
Super7 and Secret Base have created a new specimen of Xenomorph, the Green Slime Alien soft vinyl figure! Cast in translucent green vinyl with black paint rub, the terrifying 4″ tall Alien creature will reach Earth this Friday, March 20, at 12 Noon PST.
Diamond Select Is Making Christmas Scary Again
While they premiered a lot of these at Toy Fair a few weeks back, and Diamond Select Toys Marketing Supervisor Zach Oat spoke with us about some of these upcoming releases, the crew over at Action Figure Insider has got an exclusive first look at some glamour shots and solicitations for some of DST’s upcoming ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ line! A Diamond Select Toys release! Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is finally getting the Select action figure treatment! The Select line is known for its detailed sculpts, larger scale and its diorama bases, and NBX promises to put all of those features to the test! Jack Skellington, Sally and Oogie Boogie will make up the first series of figures, each sculpted to a 7-inch scale with character-appropriate articulation. Jack Skellington will come with a cemetery environment, Sally with a Halloweentown environment and alternate kneeling legs, and Oogie will come with a stone floor base and a removable face! Marvel Select Hawkeye Takes Aim
Our friends over at Diamond Select Toys have announced yet another all new Disney Store Exclusive Marvel Select figure! This time it’s taking the shape of the classic Avenger Hawkeye! This new 7″ scale Hawkeye figure is fully articulated and sports Hawkeye’s modern look. Check out the full release from DST below-

Hot Toys Assembles Some Avengers
Hot on the heels of the recent new trailer for the film, Hot Toys has revealed an up close look at their upcoming 1:6th scale Black Widow figure from ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’!
The Avengers team lineup looks to be growing with all of the new characters being introduced in the upcoming sequel, but Black Widow is a fan favorite that people have been clamoring to get a new Hot Toy of since her new costume premiered! This all new Black Widow comes packed with a TON of cool new accessories like a few sets of alternate hands, shock-effects for her wrist ‘stingers’, batons, a few guns, and a classy new display stand! A new wave of Hot Toys’ 1/6th scale Collectible Figures based on the highly anticipated Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is coming as the movie’s release date draws near! Today we are excited to present the deadly female member of the mighty Avengers – the 1/6th scale Black Widow Collectible Figure!
The movie-accurate collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in the film featuring a newly painted head sculpt with short curly brownish-red real fabric hair, newly tailored costume with leather-like trims and blue highlights, detailed new weapons and accessories.
As if the all new Black Widow figure isn’t enough, Hot Toys also posted this teaser image of their all new Hawkeye 1:6th scale figure as well! It’s expected we will see a full look at this new Hawkeye figure in the coming weeks leading to the ’Avengers: Age of Ultron’ debut!

Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!
The Best Toyline Never Made… UNTIL NOW!
Few would argue that one of the greatest atrocities against the children of the 1990’s was that there was no toyline made for the science-fiction masterpiece ‘The Fifth Element’. The team over at Funko is finally righting that wrong with their new series of ‘The Fifth Element’ ReAction figures! This series is expected in stores this May, with a wave comprised of Korben Dallas, Leeloo (two versions), Zorg, Ruby Rhod, Diva Plavalaguna, and a Mangalore!
Even More Exclusives
As always, Funko has quite a few new exclusive figures coming our way! This weeks freshly announced offerings include an ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Phasing Vision, and an Unmasked Captain Cold from ‘The Flash’!
Phasing Vision is set to be a Target exclusive, although no release date is currently set for this figure. He is expected to be hitting sometime this summer during the ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ theatrical run.
Unmasked Captain Cold from ‘The Flash’ is due to hit this June, but is available exclusively at Entertainment Earth!

New Funko Previews
There are few science fiction based television series that can truly hold a candle to the legendary ‘Battlestar Galactica’. Both the short lived original and the highly praised early 2000’s reboot series are considered by many to be iconic in this genre, albeit for different reasons. This week Funko posted a few glamorB shots of their upcoming POP! Vinyls based on the original ‘Battlestar Galactica’, which you can check out below! These are expected to hit stores this May! This wave consists of Adama, Starbuck, Apollo, and a Cyclon!
We’ve also got some recently released glamor shots of the upcoming wave of POP! Vinyls based on the hit action game series ‘Borderlands’! This series of POP! Vinyls is set to hit stores this June!
Also coming our way this summer are POP! Vinyls based on two hit films involving a ton of shooting, ‘21 Jump Steet’ and ‘The Boondock Saints’!
The ‘21 Jump Street’ series is limited to just two POP! Vinyls, featuring the films leads Schmidt and Jenko!
Funko‘s upcoming products based on ‘The Boondock Saints’ however, are slightly more expansive with figures releasing in both the POP! Vinyl and ReAction lines for this film! Both the POP! Vinyl and ReAction lines will see figures of the Saints themselves, Connor and Murphy MacManus!
All of these figures are expected to hit stores this May!
Greedo Shoots Twice
Regardless of who ACTUALLY shot first, it’s safe to say plenty of ‘Star Wars’ fans will be happy to hear that this long since retired Funko POP! Vinyl of Greedo is coming out of the Funko Vault for a limited new production run! This will allow many of the people who missed out on this early release from the POP! Vinyl line to add him to their collection! He’s expected to his in limited quantities this May!

They’re So Dorbz!
Funko’s sub-brand Vinyl Sugar has released a ton of new images of their upcoming Dorbz vinyl figure line! The first series of Dorbz is set to hit stores this May, and is based on last summers mega-blockbuster ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’! Figures included in this wave include Starlord (both Masked and Unmasked), Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Yondu, Ronan, Nebula, Korath, and The Collector!
