True Believers are currently preparing themselves for ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and the massive ramifications that it will bring to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although, Joe and Anthony Russo are just about ready to move on to the hard at work that comes with the epic two-parter ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ After their stint with the Star-Spangled Avenger, the filmmakers will turn the sights to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and their next adventure that will presumably see them take on Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet. But even though they’re still in the early stages of that project, they have some tiny teaser tidbits to tantalize the fans.

Previously, the Russos revealed at a convention that they have a board filled with 67 characters on it to help them crack the story of ‘Infinity War’. But even when you take into consideration the major players in the MCU from film, television, the Marvel One-Shot shorts, and Netflix, it doesn’t exactly add up to that number. So in a recent interview with Forbes, Joe Russo revealed that we’ll be seeing a fair amount of new faces being added to the mix when the movie finally hits theaters in a few years:  

“New characters are going to appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ It’s a big sprawling ambitious movie, it’s about as ambitious as movies get and it should be, and the title alone indicates that there will be an incredible scape and scope to it.”

But if you’re wondering who some of these new characters are, it sounds like the Russos may not even know for sure just yet. After all, as Anthony Russo clarifies, there isn’t even a first draft of the script at the moment:

“It is intended to be the entire culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, in many ways, the end to that part of it. But we don’t even have the first draft in on that script yet; we’re still in the outline phase. It’s hard not to talk about it too specifically not only because of spoilers but also because we’re still figuring it out.”

Our minds are going a million miles a minute right now because the possibilities are endless right now. Beta Ray Bill, Alpha Flight, Nova, and She-Hulk are just a few names that popped into my head right now, but what if we even see Silver Surfer thrown into the mix too? We didn’t think that we’d see Spider-Man in the MCU, but here we are. With an incredible number of heroes and villains in the Marvel pantheon, you never know who could make the jump from the page to the screen next.
