Heroes Of The CW Suit Up In 10 New DC Fandome Posters

Next weekend, DC Comics (an AT&T/WarnerMedia subsidiary) will hold its first-ever virtual fan convention, DC Fandome, and in anticipation of that event, The CW has released posters showcasing its slate in DC shows. Newcomers ‘Stargirl’ (Brec Bassinger) and ‘Superman & Lois’ (Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch) are included along with Cress Williams (Black Lightning/Jefferson Pierce) from ‘Black Lightning’, Grant Gustin (The Flash/Barry Allen) and Candice Patton (Iris West-Allen) from ‘The Flash’, and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl/Kara Danvers) and Nicole Maines (Nia Nal/Dreamer) from ‘Supergirl’. It’s interesting that Patton and Maines get their own posters, when they are supporting castmembers, while The CW’ real ensemble show, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ only gets one poster, depicting Caity Lotz as White Canary/Sara Lance. But the strangest inclusion is the poster for ‘Batwoman’. In May, the show’s lead, Ruby Rose, quit the show. She has since been replaced by Javica Leslie, but due to COVID-19, it doesn’t appear that production has resumed on any of these shows, and Leslie may not have even done a costume fitting yet. DC Fandome Announces Its Full Schedule With Big Name Guests

DC is getting set to deliver its biggest fan experience ever with DC Fandome, a virtual convention that will cover everything from the comics to television to film and will feature appearances from some major stars from all fields. New York Comic Con Goes Virtual This Year

Not surprisingly, New York Comic Con’s producer ReedPop has announced that it is going virtual for this year’s event. Panels will stream on Youtube on October 8-11. In a statement, ReedPop president Lance Fensterman said” “We are thoroughly disappointed that we can’t gather together, in-person for the New York Comic Con we love to build and our fans love to revel in. We look forward to this weekend all year long, just like you, and with this being our 15th edition, we were particularly excited. I will miss walking up and down artist alley and seeing friends that I’ve made since we were in the basement at the Javits Center. While this year will definitely be a different experience, we are going to look to bring the best and most engaging event to our fans, exhibitors, and studios through our partnership with YouTube.” Expected to present panels are Hulu, Starz, FX, DreamWorks Animation, and CBS All Access, including some dedicated to ‘Star Trek’ and ‘American Gods’. Warner Brothers is delivering an exclusive online virtual convention for fans of DC Comics and an all-star panel is confirmed to appear, including: Idris Elba, who has a mystery role (who may be Bronze Tiger) in ‘The Suicide Squad’; Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot; ‘The Suicide Squad’ director James Gunn; Dwayne Johnson, who will headline the film ‘Black Adam’; Ezra Miller, who portrays The Flash in the film franchise; the new Batman, Robert Pattinson; ‘Wonder Woman 1984’s Steve Trevor, Chris Pine; Harley Quinn star, Margot Robbie; original ‘Justice League’ director, Zack Snyder. In a fairly unexpected move, last fall the team at Wicked Cool Toys (a recently acquired subsidiary of Jazwares) recently announced that they had taken over the master toy license for the iconic ‘Halo’ video game franchise! Fans were eagerly awaiting more news following the announcement, but sadly were left waiting for news that would never come. Until now that is! This year at New Toy Toy Fair 2020 Wicked Cool Toys was proud to show off their all-new ‘Halo’ themed products and while they said there was stuff they couldn’t even show us yet, we were mindblown because it certainly didn’t look like they were holding anything back! ‘Halo’ is an all-new license for Wicked Cool Toys and there have been a number of other companies that held the license in the past including McFarlane Toys and Mattel, which means that Wicked Cool Toys has some big shoes to fill if they want to make their mark on the brand. It has officially been a year since Hasbro kicked off their new ‘Power Rangers: Lightning Collection’ line of 6″ figures! The line, which is geared towards collectors and fans of the overall ‘Power Rangers’ legacy than to the most current iteration of the brand, has been a rousing success, to say the least. Most stores seem to have trouble keeping them in stock, and it isn’t hard to see why! This year at New York Toy Fair 2020, Hasbro showcased the latest wave of these fully articulated 6″ figures, plus a few surprises that are sure to have fans of the original ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ super excited! With Coronavirus Entering the US, DC Comics Cancels March Convention Appearances

With the outbreak of the coronavirus around the world, there is a growing concern about the safety of large public gatherings, including fan conventions where hundreds and hundreds of people are packed into exhibition centers to trade their wares, meet their heroes, and attend panels about all aspects of the industry. The question is, how safe will these conventions be now that the coronavirus has hit the United States? For a lot of companies, it does not seem worth the risk. The first convention to feel the pressure is Seattle’s Emerald City Comic Con which is scheduled for March 12-15, where a number of companies and talent are no longer going to attend, which makes sense considering the impact Coronavirus has already had on Washington State. In New York, Warner Bros has cancelled the premiere for its new DC Animated Film ‘Superman: Red Son’ which was set for March 16. In late 2019 the team at Hasbro announced that they had taken over the master toy license for the ‘Ghostbusters’ brand starting in 2020. For many ‘Ghostbusters’ fans, this was fantastic news, as it meant we would have some great new products releasing just in time for the newest film in the franchise, ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife‘, hits theaters. Hasbro’s initial offerings seem to be pretty widespread, with plenty of items based on the original ‘Ghostbusters’ film and even some based on the classic ‘The Real Ghostbusters’ toyline! Here’s the rundown for items collectors won’t want to miss! For fans who grew up on the classic ‘The Real Ghostbusters’ animated series, Hasbro has a new retro-line of figures that are based on the classic Kenner toyline for the show! Its been almost a full decade since DC Direct rebranded itself as DC Collectibles, but now they’re coming full circle and reclaiming the name that started it all! Kicking off Toy Fair 2020 by announcing their return to the name DC Direct, DC Comics in house collectibles team is restating their mission statement of bringing you the best products based on the DC Comics universe direct from the source. The team at Playmobil has been consistently releasing some top quality licensed playsets for the last few years ever since they kicked off their licensing game with ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ back in 2017. The team at Quantum Mechanix has spent the last few years building up their brand and bringing fans some of the most fun looking stylized collectibles that the industry has ever seen. This year at New York Toy Fair things were a little bit different at the QMX booth, which found itself hidden away behind large walls, while it is normally wide open where people can see everything. The QMX team is playing things a little closer to the vest these days, but still doing their best to bring collectors what they want. While we can’t tell you about everything we saw (literally! This week ahead of New York Toy Fair 2020 Chronicle Collectibles has pulled back the curtain to reveal their all new ‘Jurassic World: Final Battle Tyrannosaurus Rex’ Statue! First hinted at way back at San Diego Comic Con 2017, this new 1:24 scale statue is being presented as a beautifully crafted display piece for any ‘Jurassic World’ fan.
