Fans attending New York Comic Con 2019 are going to be in for a special treat at the Titan Books’ booth as they’ve got something for everyone! There are going to be some amazing autographed copies and original works “for fans of Alien, Firefly, Marvel, and” the cult classic Duncan Jones‘ directed ‘Moon.’ Not only are these exclusives but they are limited editions with small release batches so be sure to head over as soon as possible!
First up, there are 50 copies available of the new re-release of ‘Captain America: Dark Designs’ signed by author Stefan Petrucha and including an exclusive Silver Shield Tattoo clocking in at $10. Originally available in 2016, this story follows Captain America, who has just learned from S.H.I.E.L.D. that there is “an extinction-level pathogen hidden in his cells.” This news would be bad enough, but before he can freeze himself to prevent it from spreading, he also had to fight Red Skull who is inhabiting the body of a clone of Cap. Petrucha is known for putting together quite a few prose novels based on Marvel’s characters including ‘Spider-Man: Forever Young’ and ‘Deadpool: Paws‘.
Next up, we’re jumping into the world of Xenomorphs with what will be the easiest to score of Titan’s exclusives as there will be 150 copies of ‘Alien: The Blueprints’ that will include an amazingly put together Limited Edition blueprint pin of the Nostromo. This one is a little pricier coming in at $45. As to what you can find in the book, it “is full of brand-new blueprints and technical drawings of all the major vehicles, ships, and technology from the Alien movie universe.” For those who love the technical side of science fiction, this is one worth snagging a copy of!
Sticking with our love of ‘Aliens,’ Titan Books also is providing autographed copies of ‘Alien: Prototype – The Official Novelization’ which is coming out at the end of this month. Only, this release will be a bit harder to find as they were only able to sneak out 30 early releases of the novel for Tim Waggoner to sign. The short synopsis of the novel describes it as “When an industrial spy steals a Xenomorph egg, former Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks must prevent an alien from killing everyone on an isolated colony planet” which means we’re getting the perfect mixture of an isolated world and space marines! This one will be priced at $9 a copy.
We’ll continue on Titan Books’ journey into space with ‘Making Moon’ that has an exclusive art card which will be signed by director Duncan Jones. This one has 50 copies available and might only appeal to the diehard fans of the movie as it will clock in at $40. “Making Moon takes an in-depth look back at the cult film’s production as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of its release.” Simon Ward put together the tale of how ‘Moon’ came to be and the book includes a forward by Jones. It also includes interviews with the creative team behind the film as well as both concept and behind-the-scenes photos with details about cut scenes from the original script.
We hope that you’re hungry for more as the last of the exclusives is ‘Firefly: The Big Damn Cookbook’ that also will have an exclusive Firefly magnet with it. However, the big draw here is that if you bring your own book, you can also meet author Chelsea Monroe-Cassel who will be signing copies at the Titan booth on Saturday at 2pm! If you want to snag a copy there with the magnet, there will only be 50 available and are priced out at $35 a pop. The book will allow you to “Cook your way across the ‘Verse using over 70 recipes inspired by Joss Whedon’s cult T.V.T.V. show with Firefly: The Big Damn Cookbook.” You have to admit, it is pretty impressive to have been able to put together so many dishes from a series that only lasted a single season.
So if these look like something that you’ll want to check out, be sure to head over to Booth #2143 first thing on October 3rd when the convention kicks off!
