Hope you love Captain Marvel because you’re getting a lot more of her. As reported by We Got This Covered (which, just so we’re clear, is a RUMOR/GOSSIP site), Brie Larson is signed on to appear in FIVE more Marvel Studios films. It’s not clear what that means– it probably DOESN’T mean five more ‘Captain Marvels’ but it could mean two more, and three more ‘Avengers’. But in the past, smaller cameos did not count as part of an actor’s contract, so for instance, Chris Evans’ public service announcements in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ weren’t part of his contract.
Expect some clarity in two weeks, during San Diego Comic-Con, as Marvel Studios has kept everything post-‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ under wraps. I mean, technically, ‘Black Widow’, ‘The Eternals’, and ‘Shang-Chi: Master of Kung-Fu’ aren’t officially happening, even though ‘Black Widow’ is literally filming right now.

As for ‘Captain Marvel’, the first film made over $1 billion, including a surge in attendance just before (and a little after) ‘Avengers: Endgame’ came out.
The rest of this is EDITORIALIZING so, you can turn back or proceed, knowing this is just me blabbering.
But maybe in the next five movies, they could try giving Carol Danvers a personality. I got that in ‘Captain Marvel’ she was an amnesiac piecing together her prior life. And she wasn’t really in ‘Endgame’ that much, which was a disappointment. At some point, she needs to be more than insanely powerful and confident. Most of the other Marvel heroes grapple with insecurities and flaws that make them relatable. Doctor Strange and Iron Man are assholes. Captain America was too idealistic at times. Star-Lord loves bad music. Wanda has an accent that comes and goes. Just give Carol SOMETHING. Otherwise, she’s just Captain Mary Sue and I don’t want to watch that for five movies. (Do you?)
At this time, we don’t know when Brie Larson will return as Captain Marvel, but perhaps that is one of the revelations that will arrive at SDCC.
Are you looking forward to five more movies featuring Captain Marvel?
