It’s a pretty hard sell when a company asks consumers to essentially buy a product that they don’t need multiples of. But when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, True Believers have plenty of reasons to pick up Phase Two movies such as ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, or ‘Iron Man 3’ again thanks to the Amazon exclusive ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection’. Not only does the box set include a number of pieces of memorabilia from your favorite Marvel movies, but there is a plethora of never-before-seen special features including some newly recorded commentary for some fan-favorite Marvel One-Shots.
Before they headlined their own shows on ABC, Agent Peggy Carter and Agent Phil Coulson found life outside of the MCU films that they were introduced in thanks to Marvel Studios’ shorts known as One-Shots, which were included on the home releases of many of their feature films. As added incentive for fans to pick up the limited edition 13-disc set, Marvel has included some brand new commentary for the One-Shots titled ‘Agent Carter’ and ‘A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor’s Hammer’ featuring their respective stars Hayley Atwell and Clark Gregg. But before you unwrap your very own set (likely thanks to St. Nick delivered via Amazon drone), Marvel has shared a few sneak peeks at the new commentaries on YouTube to check out. You can see them below, followed by the official synopsis of the set that outlines all the awesome things that you’ll be getting:
The limited edition, 13-Disc ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection’ invites you to hold the greatest power in the cosmos in your grasp – an orb containing one of the legendary Infinity Stones! Plus Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and Digital Copies of all Phase 2 films, in collectible packaging designed by artist Matt Ferguson. This set overflows with stunning Marvel memorabilia, including a gold-foiled page from the book of Dark Elves, an ancient drawing from the Morag vault, Avengers and S.T.R.I.K.E. uniform patches, a replica of the Tony Stark Tattoo from Marvel’s ‘Iron Man 3’, and much more!
As awesome as the Phase One box set was, Marvel has definitely outdone themselves with this one. Not only are the new special features fully loaded, but the prop replicas are on point. Hopefully we’ve all been good little boys and girls so that we’ll see one of these under our tree this holiday season. Until then, let us know what you think about the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection’ and it’s SSR/S.H.I.E.L.D.-related special features in the comments.
