Patty Jenkins Wishes Gal Gadot A Happy Birthday By Sharing A New Look At 'Wonder Woman 1984'

Happy Birthday, Gal Gadot!  The breakout star turned 34 on Tuesday, April 30, and her ‘Wonder Woman’ director, Patty Jenkins wished her happy tiding on Twitter, but sharing a present for everyone– a new look at Gal in the highly-anticipated sequel ‘Wonder Woman 1984’.

“Happy Birthday to my most spectacular, incredible, amazing, beautiful, loving, powerful, hilarious and awe-inspiring friend and partner. I love you more than words can say,” Jenkins wrote, while posting an image of Gadot looking angelic in white with blue and green sparkles filtering the lens.

‘Wonder Woman’ made $821.8 million globally in 2016.  Its domestic opening of $103.3 set numerous records, including the biggest-ever debut by a female director (Jenkins), and the highest-grossing female-led superhero movie ever.  It eventually became the highest-grossing film of any kind directed by a woman, and the highest-earning superhero origin film, male or female, although it has since been bested in that area.

Gadot and Chris Pine reunite for ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, which is now in post-production.  On the villain front, Kristen Wiig will debut as Barbara Minerva a.k.a. The Cheetah, with Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord.  Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta) and Robin Wright (Antiope) are said to return as well.  RUMOR has it, 1970s Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter will make a cameo.

After breaking out in ‘Wonder Woman’, Gadot hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’, appeared in Maroon 5’s ‘Girls Like You’ music video, and lent her voice to ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’.  She is slated to appear in Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Death on the Nile’, the follow-up to his 2017 film ‘Murder on the Orient Express’.  ‘Death on the Nile’ is due in the fall of next year.  She is also attached to star opposite Dwayne Johnson in spy thriller ‘Red Notice’, and to play legendary movie siren Hedy Lamarr in a made-for-TV miniseries.

‘Wonder Woman 1984’ will hit theaters on June 5, 2020.
