‘Captain Marvel’ is still playing in some theaters, and as we saw this past weekend, it experienced a spike in ticket sales as Marvel movie fans took in an extra viewing in preparation for the release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’. But if you don’t have the time (or inclination), the mid-credits scene which leads directly into ‘Endgame’ has been released online.

As has been revealed, Brie Larson actually filmed her scenes for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ before ‘Captain Marvel’, so she was in the odd position of playing her character before she was fully established in her own solo picture. And of course, ‘Captain Marvel’ was the first Marvel Studios film to star a solo female hero, although a ‘Black Widow’ movie is in the works and may arrive as early as next year.
Speaking of Black Widow, Scarlett Johanson appears in the ‘Captain Marvel’ mid-credits scene, along with Don Cheadle as War-Machine, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. But it’s Black Widow who utters the fateful words “I want to know who’s on the other end of that thing” before turning around to face Carol Danvers, who wants to know “Where’s Fury?”

Unfortunately, viewers will have to wait until ‘Endgame’ arrives to find that out. Where’s Fury, indeed? Anywhere?
