In the first trailer for Netflix‘s ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,‘ “the journey begins as darkness rises” and we will “join three Gelfling heroes on an epic quest to save their world.” Honestly, I’ve been extremely excited for this prequel to ‘The Dark Crystal’ ever since it was first announced. Jim Henson made something special in the 1982 classic which still holds up today and as his studio is involved in the creation of the prequel, I am thrilled to see what they’ll be putting together.
The series is set to be 10-episodes each clocking in at an hour and brings us back to Thra where the source of Skeksis’ power is starting to come to light.

Louis Leterrier (‘The Incredible Hulk,’ ‘Now You See Me’) is directing the series and will mix puppeteering from Henson’s team as well as brand new visual effects which weren’t available when the original film was created. Honestly, this trailer looks stunning.
With the leads being voiced by Taron Egerton (‘Kingsman’), Anya Taylor-Joy (‘The Witch’), and Nathalie Emmanuel (‘Game of Thrones’) you know that we’re in for something special from the voice acting as well. Not to mention the slew of other actors involved such as Helena Bonham-Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Mark Hamill, Keegan-Michael Key, Simon Pegg, and so many others!
