There are certain video games that have a natural path that can be traced in terms of what a move about that game would be about. Assassin’s Creed and time-travel undercover ops. Uncharted and a treasure-hunting mystery. Sonic the Hedgehog and a fast blue animal with rings. Super Mario Bros and plumbing. And the like. So, when the news came down about an upcoming film called ‘Tetris,’ it makes one’s brain start to think of the possibilities: will this be a movie along the same lines as Hasbro’s now-scuttled plans for turning its games into film properties? Will it be a tale about giant blocky alien ships invading Earth, and the only way for us to defeat them is to get them lined up next to each other so our missiles can make them “disappear?” (I’d watch that, probably.) Could it be a horror movie based on an ancient puzzle, and when the pieces align just so, it sends the user into a shadowy nether-realm? (I’d definitely watch that.) If you ask almost anyone who has ever played a game in the ‘Legend of Zelda‘ franchise, and they’ll tell you that it is one of the greatest video game series of all time. ‘The Legend of Zelda’ is arguably the best game series of all time, and that’s why the recent rumors making their way around the net are such a big deal. Every once in a while, a rumor comes along that sounds almost too good to be true, and for ‘Zelda’ fans, this is certainly one of those times! It’s every gamer’s dream become a reality! A real life Turret straight from the Aperture Science labs as seen in the popular video game ‘Portal’ and ‘Portal 2’. The major difference you’ll notice between this real version of the Turret, and the one seen in game, is that this one is a soft and cuddly plush that you can snuggle up with an enjoy for all of it’s demented commentary! But is the officially licensed Portal 2 Turrest Plush worth picking up? Let’s take a look at it! First off, yes, this thing is awesome. Exclusive Interview: Richard Hatch Talks ‘Loadout: Going In Hot’

This week the all new free-to-play action packed shooter game ‘Loadout’ hit the marketplace for the Sony Playstation 4 gaming console. To celebrate the release of this highly anticipated game, Machinima and the team at Wayside Creations (who made such classic live action going shorts as ‘Fallout: Nuka Break‘ and ‘Fallout: Red Star‘) have crafted a brand new short film based on the game! The eight-and-a-half-minute long short film, titled ‘Loadout: Going In Hot’, features a great cast of ‘merchant marines in space’ lead by Captain Gaz, who is portrayed by none other than the legendary Richard Hatch of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ fame! Before games were online, social gaming was either at the arcade, or at a friend’s home. Crystal Dynamics and Microsoft dropped a lofty bomb on Gamescom goers with the breaking news that the newest of the ‘Tomb Raider’ franchise, ‘Rise Of The Tomb Raider,’ will be exclusive to Xbox One! But fear not as Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition will be coming to PC and PS4 gamers respectively! As quoted by the fine folks at Microsoft during E3: “In her first adventure, Lara Croft was forged into a true survivor, but she glimpsed a deeper, secret world. In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider.” The ‘Tomb Raider’ franchise has come a long way and has evolved as the technical abilities of gaming has increased exponentially. Kano Returns In This New Trailer From ‘Mortal Kombat X!’

One of classic video games’ most legendary titles, and today’s most anticipated games of 2015 drops a new trailer! ‘Mortal Kombat X’ follows one of Gaming’s most impressive reboots, the re-imagining was very successful and fans are more than excited for the new release! Creator Ed Boon has been tantalizing us for quite some time now, until the gloriously gory trailer dropped. So far we have witnessed the return of Raiden, one of the games more iconic characters. With this new gameplay trailer, we are gifted with another classic return- that of the brutal Kano! I’m loving the battleground graphics in this trailer! Being a graphics guy, I’m appreciating the depth, attention to detail, and realism presented. In this trailer we see Kano (with his upgraded bio-mechanics) tear hell and seven dollars out of D’Vorah, a new character. D’Vorah comes off as a twisted, darkling elf/fairy type of character with an odd affinity for… bread loaf sized maggots that metamorphoses into large, stinging insects on command. Pounding on his cybernetic “heart” for increased power makes him reminiscent of DC Comics’ most substantial bad guys, Bane. ‘Dead Island 2’ Releases First Pre-Alpha Gameplay Footage!

The dead… the decaying, rotted and hellish corpses animated to skitter upon the earth once again! The now infamous Banoi Islands stand barren of the lumbering dead, only to give way to new haunts. The decrepit, and decaying deceased have made landfall… in sunny and beautiful California! ‘Deep Silver’ has dropped a new gameplay trailer on fans of the ‘Dead Island’ franchise. Anyone who has loaded up the first game can attest, this is fun stuff! The ability to physically upgrade your weapon was a very cool addition to the typical Zombie FPS. Horror under the Hollywood sign explodes in bloody buckets of gore as this “Pre-Alpha footage” of ‘Dead Island 2.’ Deep Silver reminds us in the trailer that this is a work in progress, so don’t count your decapitated chickens just yet. But let’s hope the “freeze ability” stays in the released version, I can see all kinds of happy fun with that little feature.
