Syfy Releases The First Trailer For Vagrant Queen

Shortly after the cancellation of ‘Krypton,’  Syfy is once again giving us a live-action comic book adaptation set in space with ‘Vagrant Queen.’ The series was initially announced back in May revealing that the series will consist of ten one-hour episodes. The network also wanted to stress that the first season will be a “fun, violent, snarky, space opera” that is also 100% directed and written by women.

For those unfamiliar with the Vault Comics’ release by the same name that the series is based on, here is the synopsis:

Vagrant Queen follows Elida from child queen to orphaned outcast, as she scavenges the treacherous corners of the galaxy, always one step ahead of the Republic government out to extinguish her bloodline. When her old friend Isaac shows up claiming her mother Xevelyn is still alive, they head off with their new ally, Amae, to stage a rescue that will take her back into the perilous heart of her former kingdom and up against a deadly foe from her childhood, Commander Lazaro.

Clocking in at only 30-seconds, we’re a bit limited as to what this promo shows us. We see a bit of Elida’s character being shown off as well as a bundle of action sequences which hint precisely how they’ll be delivering this “fun, violent, snarky, space opera.”

While the series looks like it could be fun, it is hard to get excited for any show that Syfy greenlights these days. The network has become known for canceling many of the shows that they put into production.
