Never underestimate the power of Netflix to consume your life. Next month, almost exactly halfway between new seasons of ‘House of Cards’ and ‘Orange is the New Black,’ Marvel is coming to Netflix. Anticipation has been building for ‘Daredevil,’ the first Marvel series to hit the streaming service, ever since the development deal was announced in late 2013. And at last Marvel has released at proper trailer.
While this is not the first footage that has been released from the series, everything that has been made available so far could effectively be described as “glorified teasers.” Today’s trailer is just shy of two and a half minutes of footage, and provides our first real glimpses of several characters, including mainstays Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. It also includes more substantive looks at Kingpin, and of course Matt Murdock himself. I say “Matt Murdock” because, while we have seen Charlie Cox in both his civilian and superhero guises in previous teasers, what we have seen so far has been weighted toward Matt as Daredevil. This trailer, however, includes scenes of Matt in a courtroom, working his “day job.’ Also featured are glimpses of what appears to be the accident that gave Matt his powers, a brief look at Rosario Dawson as the Night Nurse, and perhaps most tantalizing of all, a brief snippet of a conversation between Daredevil and Kingpin.

Of course, there’s more to look forward to once you’ve binged your way through the season. ‘Daredevil’ is set to be followed by individual shows focusing on Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, culminating in a crossover Defenders miniseries.
‘Daredevil’ stars Charlie Cox in the title role, alongside Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. All thirteen episodes of ‘Daredevil”s first season will be available to stream on Netflix beginning on April 10th.
