Jessica Henwick has joined the cast of Paramount Players’ ‘Monster Problems’. Michael Matthews (‘Five Fingers for Marseilles’) will direct, with a screenplay by Matthew Robinson (‘Monster Trucks’). (Brian Duffield penned an earlier draft.) ‘Stranger Things” Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps are producing. Henwick joins Dylan O’Brien, Michael Rooker, and Ariana Greenblatt (a.k.a. Young Gamora).

‘Monster Problems’ is a “coming-of-age story” and “a post-apocalyptic road movie with heart,” set in a world that has been overrun by monsters. O’Brien plays a boy named Joel Dawson who “who travels through a hostile environment to find the girl of his dreams.” That girl is Henwick’s character. (Name unknown.) But this girl “has a lot more going on than what initially is seen.”
Rooker’s character is named Clyde and is an expert hunter that takes Joel under his wing. Greenblatt plays Minnow. The cast also includes Arthur Costa, Keiichi Enomoto, Tonia Renee Hammerich, and Te Kohe Tuhaka. Beyond that, not much is known about ‘Monster Problems’.
Henwick is currently filming ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ which comes out next year. She is also lending her voice to Netflix’s animated ‘Gods & Heroes’. She previously starred as martial arts master Colleen Wing on the Netflix series, ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘The Defenders’, and made additional appearances on ‘Luke Cage’. She may also be remembered for portraying Nymeria Sand on ‘Game of Thrones’, and she appeared in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ as Resistance pilot Jess “Testor” Pava.

Rooker can currently be seen in ‘True Detective’ Season 3. O’Brien was most recently seen in Youtube Premium’s ‘Weird City’, produced by Jordan Peele.
This marks only the second film for Michael Matthews. His previous film, ‘Five Fingers for Marseilles’, a South African-based western, won numerous African Movie Academy Awards including Best Film, Best Film in an African Language, and Best First Feature Film by a Director.
