The seventh and final season of Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ won’t debut on ABC until next year but thanks to a panel at D23, the first teaser trailer is out for the series! As Marvel Entertainment is hyping that “Season 7 is going to be a blast in the past!” it seems only fitting that we’ll also see the return of the threat which was most central to the story that made the show fun to watch – Hydra. We’ll be seeing the members of S.H.I.E.L.D. traveling through time so you can’t help but suspect that the Hydra tease means that we’ll see a past incarnation of the villains, but it is always possible that we’ll see the timeline altered for them to appear once more.

Or, we might get another look of the virtual world which was created by The Chronicoms who were mapping the minds of “Fitzsimmons” to try and replicate time travel in the sixth season.

While the season kicks off in 1931 and we see what looks to be time-traveling Chronicoms following our Agents into the past, it is easy to guess that they won’t spend all their time there. Rumors of Agent Carter being included and confirmation that Patrick Warburton‘s Agent Stoner makes it likely that we’ll be checking in on different eras as the season progresses.

I think what many fans are most excited for is how this version of Agent Coulson will stack up against the original and if there could be a way to realize the love that he and Agent May held for one another while he was actually alive.
