Just when you thought it was safe to go back on the internet, it’s an all new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! This week there’s quite a bit of awesome convention exclusive news, whether it’s for the recently passed HasCon, or the upcoming New York Comic Con, there’s lots of updates on exclusives to be had! besides exclusive news, we’ve got some awesome new items coming from NECA, Funko, Diamond Select and more! Get HasCon Exclusives While They’re Hot!

This past weekend Hasbro threw their first ever convention based entirely around their stable of amazing brands and licenses including Marvel, Transformers, My Little Pony, Magic The Gathering, and more! The first ever HasCon took place in Rhode Island and overall the general consensus is that it was a smash hit with most fans and collectors! As with most major conventions, there were a number of awesome convention exclusives that people spent the weekend clamoring to get their hands on from some of Hasbro’s top lines like 6″ scale ‘Marvel Legends’ and ‘Star Wars: Black Series’! The only real downside is that the exclusives were all only available at the convention itself! Luckily that’s all about to change.

Hasbro has just announced that they will be listing the remaining stock of HasCon convention exclusives up on HasbroToyShop.com later this month on September 20th, 2017! That means if you weren’t lucky enough to make it out to HasCon in person to grab these exclusives, you now have your chance to add them to your own collection! New From NECA

This week NECA has a few cool announcements, so we thought we would round them up a little bit to make things easier. There’s a whole new license being announced, plus a special new collector’s Blu-Ray set they’re involved in, and an epic new display piece for your collection you aren’t going to want to miss!

First up is the reveal of an all new license with Stephen King’s ‘IT’! The recent film adaptation of the book has been dominating the box office this weekend, so a whole new line of toys and collectibles makes perfect sense! Unfortunately, NECA hasn’t yet stated exactly what they will be doing with the line (whether it’s highly detailed articulated 7″ figures or their retro MEGO-Styled figures, or who knows what?), or whether this license includes the original 1990’s television mini-series that starred Tim Curry. Either way, it’s going to be awesome to see new Pennywise merchandise coming our way!

The holidays are coming up fast, which is why this next surprising announcement was extra exciting! The team over at Scream Factory have announced an all new deluxe edition Blu-ray release of the 1984 horror classic ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night’ later this year. Included with the super limited Deluxe Edition of the film, Scream Factory is including an all new exclusive 8″ MEGO style NECA figure of Billy/Killer Santa! This deluxe edition is super limited and there will only be around 2000 units made available, so it’s definitely not one for horror fans to sleep on! You can pre-order yours here!

Finally, we’ve got one last big surprise with an all new life sized Iron-Man foam figure! Posted for pre-order by BigBadToyStore, this new figure is huge at a whopping six-and-a-half feet tall! He looks a bit shiny and a little bit smoother than we’d personally prefer a life-sized Iron-Man figure, but he’d still be an astounding display piece for any ‘Avengers’ fan! Too bad he’s going to set you back $1300!

This imposing life-size foam figure of Iron Man from Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War will stand guard in any room, from home to office to retail environments!

Iron Man stands 6’5″ tall. The figure is made of foam rubber and latex that’s carefully hand-painted for realistic detail. Very simple assembly required; assembly and care instructions included.

The Doctor Is In At Diamond Select For NYCC

Our friends at Diamond Select Toys usually come up with some pretty fantastic convention exclusives every year for the biggest cons of the year, and New York Comic Con 2017 is looking to be no exception! We’ve still got about a month until the convention, but DST has officially announced their first NYCC 2017 exclusive with their new Marvel Gallery Astral Form Doctor Strange PVC Diorama Statue! It’s the first exclusive announced and likely not the last, which can be picked up at the Diamond Select Toys booth at NYCC 2017 in October!

New York, New York – it’s a heck of a town! And it’s only gotten better since the arrival of New York Comic-Con! Once a year since 2006, NYCC brings the fans together with the best of pop culture, and this year Diamond Select Toys will be there once again! In addition to a booth packed with products and a panel packed with information, they’re bringing an exclusive item that’s out of this world!

At booth 1644, fans will be able to purchase a fully translucent Marvel Gallery Astral Form Doctor Strange PVC Diorama, depicting the Sorcerer Supreme hovering above the ground with his spell-casting hands outstretched. Packaged in a full-color window box, the approximately 12-inch-tall PVC figure is limited to only 250 pieces, and will retail for only $50, so we expect these to go fast!

While you’re at the booth, check out display cases filled with upcoming items from Diamond Select Toys, including figures from Justice League, Thor: Ragnarok, Kingdom Hearts and Pacific Rim Uprising, and fill holes in your collection at the official DST store.

Additionally, Diamond Select Toys will host a panel on Friday night from 8:00-9:00 pm in room 1A05, where product manager Robert Yee and sculptors Jean St. Jean and Eli Livingston will talk about products coming out from Diamond Select Toys in the following months, and answer fan questions. The best questions will win cool DST swag!

“He’s A Friend From Work!”

Marvel’s next major blockbuster, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, hits theaters on November 2nd! Our good friends at Diamond Select Toys are making the wait a little easier with the release of a small mountain of new Marvel Minimates based on the film in what looks like what might possibly be the largest single wave of Minimates ever made for one Marvel Movie! Broken up into several sets of retailer exclusives, the ‘Thor: Ragnorok’ wave of Marvel Minimates gives collectors almost ever character they could possibly hope to be getting from this line in one form or another, although some will be easier to find than others.

Comic Shops will be getting a 4-figure box set featuring Thor, Hela, and exclusive figures of Bruce Banner and Loki that will only be available in this box set! Walgreens Stores and Toys R Us stores will each be getting their own assortments of figures, each of which has several exclusives. Minimate 2-packs of Thor with Hela and Gladiator Hulk with Valkyrie will be available at both retail chains, while Walgreens will have exclusive 2-packs of Grandmaster with Skurge and ‘Roadworn Hero’ Thor with ‘Civilian’ Loki, and Toys R Us will have an exclusive 2-pack of Heimdall and ‘Sakaar’ Loki. These should all be hitting stores now!

Hot Toys “Matt The Radar Technician”

While ‘Force Friday 2017’ has come and gone, there’s still plenty of awesome new ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ merchandise being announced! The team at Hot Toys are continuing their tradition of making figures of just about everyone with an all new updated version of the villainous Kylo Ren one 1:6th scale! Based on his new look for ‘The Last Jedi’, Kylo comes with an alternate helmeted-head, his lightsaber, several sets of alternate hands, and a special display stand! While details are scarce, it appears that Walgreens is getting another all new exclusive ‘Star Wars’ Funko POP! Vinyl! In a very fitting move, the pharmacy chain is going to be the exclusive retail destination for fans to pick up this new ‘Star Wars’ Medical Droid POP! sometime in the next few months!

Sci-Fi Dorbz Inbound!

This week Funko announced an all new series of science-fiction themed Dorbz vinyl figures based on some of your favorite sci-fi properties! New Dorbz are coming our way based on some fan favorite films like ‘ALIEN’, ‘Predator’, ‘TRON’, ‘The Rocketeer’ and more! Specialty Series December Reveals

Funko has announced the latest figures to join their small retailer exclusive ‘Specialty Series’! This December fans of classic 80’s cartoons will be happy to hear that we’re getting new figures from ‘Thundercats’ and ‘Masters Of The Universe’! For the December POP! Vinyl we’re getting the ‘Thundercats’ Tygra, while our newest Specialty Series Dorbz is Orko from ‘Masters Of The Universe’! This holiday season, The Krampus is coming!
