On May 25th, the general public will be permitted to join the ranks of NEST to join the Autobots in battle against the Decepticons because ‘Transformers: The Ride 3D’ opens in Universal Studios Hollywood, replacing the ‘Backdraft’ and ‘Special Effects Stage’ attractions. This ride, which has already opened in Universal Studios Singapore, and utilizes a ride system similar to ‘The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man’ in Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida. Using a combination of special effects, high definition 3D technology, and a motion simulator ride vehicle, guests enter the world of Michael Bay’s blockbuster trilogy and are immersed in the action of ‘Transformers’.
To get fans hyped for the opening, Universal has released a short behind the scenes featurette that shows the development and construction of the attraction. Thanks to /Film, we have that for you below.
Last week, the ride had a soft open as part of it’s technical rehearsal stage to test the ride and /Film’s Peter Sciretta had the chance to experience the ride firsthand. Judging by his review, it’s quite an enjoyable experience. I believe he says in his vlog something along the lines of “This is the ‘Transformers’ movie that we’ve always wanted to see, and we’re starring in it.” Thank God, because the third film in the franchise was most definitely NOT the ‘Transformers’ movie that I’ve always wanted to see.
I’m a big fan of movie-related theme park attractions, so I know that I’m looking forward to checking this ride out once I get out to California again. If you’re in the SoCal area at the end of May, be sure to head to Universal Studios to ride ‘Transformers: The Ride 3D’. Then, when you get back to an internet connection, let us know how it was in the comment section.
