With Zack Snyder’s ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice‘ getting further into production we’ve got a slew of new shots to share with you! Thanks to EW, today we get a look at Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor with hair, and so much more! While none of these are the first shots of these characters, these are still some of the best looks that we’ve seen to date!
First up we have a sneak preview of the cover of the Entertainment Weekly that is the SDCC 2015 preview which has a very heavy focus on ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’. A great view of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Not only that but it is a clear hint that we’ll be seeing quite a bit of new information about the movie during the convention!
Now to be honest, we’ve seen all of their outfits already so this one isn’t really that new. However we do have one of the first looks of Affleck as Bruce Wayne. It would appear that while Batman is rumored to not be directly active in quite some time that he is at least keeping up his social life.
Batman and Wonder Woman have a meeting of alter-egos as Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince parry and flirt at a high-society function. “I love the fact that there was this Thomas Crowne Affair, Bond-y sexy scene that they wrote about two people who are pretending to be two different people who each know the secrets of the other person,” says Ben Affleck.Next up is a picture of Batman’s Batsuit. I highly suspect that this could be from our first shot of the suit in the film while Wayne contemplates donning his cowl one last time.
Look at that glorious head of hair! Clearly Luthor isn’t going to be bald throughout the entire film. Unless of course this is a wig.
Jesse Eisenberg builds on his experience from The Social Network to play a billionaire with even grander schemes: Lex Luthor. And while his version of the villain might be sporting luscious locks in this photo, you can rest assured that the movie will feature that iconic chrome dome. This one looks more as if Batman is using the Bat Signal to summon someone else. Could this be how he gets Superman’s attention for the first time in the film?
The grit and gray of Man of Steel was both a continuation of the attempted realism of Christopher Nolan’s trilogy and a counterpoint to Marvel’s bright, zippy playtime. And that was before Zack Snyder ever got to Gotham. “It means that when it was supposed to look rainy and miserable, it had to be rainy and miserable,” says Affleck of the high chance of precipitation on set. “The long dark night of the soul and whatnot.”Is Superman at a Day of the Dead festival?
Henry Cavill returns to reprise his role as Superman from Man of Steel, but this time the point-of-view has shifted. “I like to think that Man of Steel was the perspective of the world from Clark, Kal-El, looking at the world and trying to exist with in it,” says Cavill. “Batman v Superman is definitely more mankind’s perspective of Superman.”Here is a behind-the-scenes shot of Affleck getting some direction on his upcoming scene.
The shots look good, however with the mixed feelings many have about this being firmly in the world of ‘Man of Steel’ and Affleck’s choice as Batman, I think we’ll need some more solid trailers to convince the masses.
